  1. Am pretty keen on Bucksin in his race.Been on him at his last half a dozen starts,he was a victim of a messy race last week, which left him parked, which is definitely not his go.As we have seen in his previous runs he's much better with a sit and one shot at them.Drawn the pole today and hopefully he can get a nice trail or possie up in the running line, and if he's not too far away he can get a well deserved win today.

    Hayley Mullane

A shame that she has joined the Coles.Always rated her ability as a trainer, but i guess she's got her reasons for doing what she's currently doing.

Just wondering if Hayley has given the game away.I don't follow the pups as much as i used too,but i pretty much used to back all of her dogs, but lately i haven't seen her name around at all.
  4. Am pretty sure that he's been with Ken Ford for a while and they haven't been able to get a win with him,so it may be the same on Friday.
  5. Yip Ants is all class....been my fave driver for years and years.A shame that things dried up for him here, which is what lead him to Aussie. And has definitely been on fire training wise as well, long may it continue.
  6. There was strong talk a couple of years ago, that they wanted to merge the 2 colleges here into 1 school. And for a while Waterlea Racecourse was mooted as the likely venue, which wasn't exactly going well with some people around here.Anyway the powers that be at the track said the place isn't for sale,so talks of a school being built on the racetrack grounds kind of died away. While those talks were happening,i don't seem to recall any talks of where any future race meetings would be held here.Hopefully they won't restart talks of putting a school on the grounds,as it would be a shame to lose the racetrack, even tho they obviously don't want to race in June this year.
  7. Yea it does seem weird alright. You'd think with all this talk a year or two back that they wanted to use the racecourse to relocate the 2 colleges, that they would want to race their as much as they can.
  8. Yea it's very odd Shad. All i know is that someone from the club 'forgot' to apply for the June dates.Which seems very strange to me,they have been racing in June for as long as i can remember so how can you just 'forget'.I guess we'll never know the reason as to why.
  9. I think this is the 2nd-ish year they have done it here.I think the grass track racing seems to work, and yea im a fan of the grass track racing. It's a shame tho that we in Blenheim have to until this meeting next year for any harness action, seeing as for some unknown reason there is no winter meeting here in June.
  10. I was on track and it was a pretty good day.The weather played its part and i thought the racing was pretty good, food was better than it used to be in previous years and no doubt the club are happy with how their 100 year celebrations went.I managed to grab a few winners which made the day more enjoyable.

  12. Might join ya Happy and throw my tips out for my local meet.Hopefully others may post as well.Chocolate fish for the winner.
  13. For so long Ian Chambers was the voice of the top of the south as well as the Coast meetings. But yes would be interesting to see what the past commentators are up too these days.
  14. Yea Lachie does own it,but trained by Rick's dad Terry.
  15. Be nice if Missie Castleton can do the business for the wee man tomorrow.
  16. Seems odd that there is issues with the track, whereas compared to last week someone said that the track is good after it had been attacked by wild pigs.Who made the decision and decided to say that the track was all good?.I'm going to have a couple of horses run at Kumara, and as much as i love having my horses run around,i wouldn't want them to run on a track that isn't up to standard.
  17. Holy shit....i totally missed it.But obviously not hard to work out what has happened. All the best to the lil man and his family.
  18. I wonder if he has re thought his goal for the season.Think i read a while back that his goal was 70...well after getting a winner today i think he's hit the 50 mark...to still sit atop the premiership. Is going very well and hopefully for him he keeps on going.
  19. It's a shame, but hopefully they will do right by the horse and pull stumps.has had an amazing career.

    D J Lane??

Just wondering if anyone has any info on this trainer.I hadn't noticed him/her up until this season, but whenever this trainers dogs win..they are doing so by big spaces. So can obviously train but as i said i've never heard of him/her.
  21. When he was living over here he would always venture over to Eugowra too call at that meeting.I'm not sure if he has been doing much commentating since he left...have heard him in the Sky studio a few times.Think i heard before he left that he was coming back for either Cup day or Cup week....wonder if they'll chuck him the microphone for a race or two?.
  22. Yip it's been a joy and pleasure to listen to Mark's calls over the past decade as he brings excitement to any old race. He's just called a dog race and he didn't miss a beat.He will be missed but thanks for the memories.
  23. Yip Matt is definitely driving like a man possessed at the moment. Is he the stable driver for Cran and Nathan?.or has he just been lucky enough to get on them?.
  24. I never saw any races from Taupo. But i did read that a horse slipped at around the 700m mark in the 4th.
