  1. Yip was another good win by him. Looks like Jason Laking seems to click with the horse which is good to see.No idea if he's heading to Kumara, but if so he'd be getting some decent weight you'd think.
  2. Now i'm not one to usually queary what a trainer is doing with their horses, but it boggles my mind that Mark Smolenski is still persevering with her as a trotter. In every start she has had as a trotter she has pretty much broken at the start and that's that. Now she was a handy lower grade pacer who normally performed well, but trying her as a trotter looks like an epic fail, and i still can't believe that she hasn't reverted back to the pacing game by now.

  3. Good to see Nigel's horse win the first today at Cromwell. He was definitely larger than life.
  4. Good to hear that the recovery is going well, slow but well. As much as i love watching the Cuz ride,i do think it's time for him to retire.Has had his fair share of nasty injuries, but this one takes the cake as it almost took his life.
  5. I've been having my own issues with the TAB site for the last few weeks. Whenever i try and watch a race on either my laptop or phone the race goes from normal speed to fast, then back to normal etc. Have emailed them constantly about it and initially they were like it's been resolved, which it hadn't,well not for me anyway. Emailed them again 2 days ago, where they said that yes their is a glitch...no bloody kidding, haven't heard anything since. Have been watching the races online thru Spark Sport, which is great, but the coverage is around 1 min in delay from what is showing on the TAB site.
  6. Agree, has to be their end,but the response from them is that it's been 'resolved'.Doesn't matter whether i use Firefox,Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, it does the same thing. The only time i saw a race normally is when i used Racing.com and watched a race from Melbourne..went perfectly. Am now hunting out betting sites that i can watch racing from Aussie/NZ anywhere else in the world, seeing as the TAB don't really care.
  7. Well i don't know about anyone else, but i'm still having the same issues. This is despite them emailing me twice over the last few days saying that its been resolved. Bunch of crap that is,the problem has to be at their end,as i've done nothing to alter the settings.
  8. I first noticed it on Thursday night.Very annoying that's for sure.
  9. I'm in a syndicate now and my payments are $12.50 per week, which works out to be $50 a month which isn't too bad.Definitely one of the cheaper harness syndicates that i've been in.
  10. Good to hear it's not just me. It's total shit, hard to believe i was told that it was resolved. Have emailed them back,so will see what the reply is IF i get one.
  11. Has anyone had any issues when watching racing either on the laptop/PC or phone? . The races start off normal speed, then they 'speed up' then goes back to normal and so on and so on.I emailed the help desk who replied back saying that a few had mentioned this problem, but has now been resolved,as of 4pm when i got a reply back. Well i shouldn't really be surprised but i'm still having the same issues,so is anyone else in the same boat as me?.

    Steve Lock

Was a good interview. Steve certainly let the powers that be know that they are doing a shit job and good on him too,not that it will change anything unfortunately.

    Trevor Wilkes

They held a commentator's day for Trev on Monday.Don't know the ins and outs of his health, but i think i heard that he's been doing the job for around 43 years,so definitely deserves his retirement.Remember listening to him on Radio when i was a kid when he was filling in for Reon Murtha at the trots many moons ago.
  14. Big fan of Jason,so was pleased to see him get another Grp 1 and for the powerful Te Akau as well.
  15. I actually don't need to use headphones,i don't need to hear the commentary.I could sink to your level and start abusing you, like you did with me,when it wasn't warranted but i won't.Just another gutless online keyboard warrior.
  16. Yes true there about the American's and Golf. I only have it on mute as my partner isn't into the whole racing thing, tho will come with me when the trots are here, but it's on mute as to not annoy the ball n chain lol.
  17. Yip think they should just concentrate on calling and forget about tipping, tho with some commentators you tend to know who their cash is on during the running. And i personally don't let their tips have an impact on what i back,as i tend to watch the races with the sound off and i don't tend to see their tips anyway as i'll start watching the race when the TAB says they are 'running'.

    Kango??

Be nothing untoward with Arna's training. His last run nothing went right for him after he got the 1x1 last week, and it was also his first run since he ran during Cup Week in races like the Cup and then the Free For All,where he performed creditably. It's not the first time he's been attacked in the lead and fought back and won. The horse is more than useful and this is his first season in the Open grade,so as i said there will be nothing untoward with Arna's training,if that's what was being implied.
  19. Am pretty sure that Ian Smith lives in Napier. So if that's the case then i guess he was free to travel down to Chch.
  20. Well unlike Brodie and some others i AM double vaccinated. For me it was a no brainer,i want to be safe for my family, friends, colleagues and most of all my wee boy to be around. I also work at the hospital here in Blenheim and it was only going to be a matter of time before it became mandatory for staff to get it. Now some will say that i'm easily led or whatever but if our infection control nurse at work say's your better of getting it,than not getting it,then that's good enough for me and i know the strain that it would put on our hospital if i got it and needed to be on a vent. So anyway feel free to have a go at me,by saying that i'm just following everyone else with my eyes not wide open blah blah. Everyone after all is entitled to their own opinions, even tho some are pretty far fetched. Anyway back to the original topic..i've decided to chuck some money into the PC for today. Will be interesting to see how things pan out.
  21. All i know is that in regards to any one. You can't drive at Premier meetings until you have driven 15 winners. Am pretty sure that is correct, but no doubt i'll be corrected if that's not the case.
  22. Well i must say i'm not totally surprised that Opie is on this runner from Te Akau, thought i can't help but feel for Jason Laking, who's done the race day riding on him since he's been in the south, and sounds like he works the horse as well. I get that they want the best on him,but gee Jason wouldn't of been out of place in that field, has won it before mind you. I guess nothing is guaranteed when your a jockey. In saying that i still think the horse can win the race, just be good to see Jason rewarded with a ride in the G1 on him.
  23. Oh and Robbie Close is known as GOOSE.
  24. Yip Tim is known as the Turtle.
  25. Yip he did look pretty dominant in that performance. I don't see why Jason Laking wouldn't keep the ride?. Sounds like from what i read that he rides the horse in trackwork as well as helping out Te Akau. If weight isn't an issue then i don't see why he can't keep the ride,is no mug.
