I did notice that when i was watching on Friday,i thought that some of the lights went out,as there were some dark patches. So i checked the stewars report but nothing was mentioned about the lights.Obviously it was safe for the drivers,but yea it did look a little odd.Hopefully they'll settle down and it was a one off.

Gee those numbers don't sound good. I for one will be hoping the meeting goes ahead,as 1 of my syndicate horses is meant to be lining up.I guess time will tell.

I'm not sure whether Bruce was a late replacement for Aaron White,but i thought he did a pretty good job last night,and i can't remember hearing him calling the trots that much in the past. Was also a nice change to not hear the drivers nicknames thru out the race. Others may disagree,but thought he did pretty well.

Yea it's John's son. Came back driving at the Palmy meetings in November.No idea where he's been tho.

Don't be bagging the Lobster lol. Our girl is very much a work in progress,but she was better the other day at the Mot after a minor gallop at the start.

Yip Nigel does a fantastic job with every thing he does to try and get the code put in the spotlight,and he does it off his own back. I'm personally lucky enough to be involved in this syndicate that Nigel has put together.So i'm sure he's as proud of Tara's run(Rock Lobster) like the rest of us are...she done good today.

Yip he drove both of the trotters very well,probably deserves to get more drives.Am lucky enough to be involved with those 2 trotters,so was very pleased to get the win with Tara,and also Lynn ran well in her first run back in a while.

I was there last year with a mate,and like you Walt i had no idea that there was an incident on the day,wasn't until i saw it on Facebook much later on that i knew about it.Always amusing watching the young ones,not being able to handle the drink. As for paying $40 last year,it didnt really bother me,but i think it's cool that they've reduced the price for this year..not that i'm going this year.

I noticed that he's been MIA over the last week or so,after starting his riding career here with 3 wins. Didn't read anywhere about a suspension or injury,so maybe gone back home?.

According to stewards report,he locked onto one rein,so he felt that if he went for it the horse would have gone to the outside fence. I did back the horse and yea on the turn i was like 'well this will bolt in' but no. I know Kenny has a lot of time for Akshay,and i can't imagine he would of just decided to not ride it out,unless there was something going on..which going by the report there was, No doubt a lot of people will be gunning for him,so to speak,but that won't be me.

A crying shame that jumps racing is going the way it is. It doesn't see that long ago that most tracks would be holding jumps races over the winter,but now it's on a select few that hold the jumps races. The big white Elephant in the room is what the so called 'powers that be' did to Ellerslie,more importantly the hill..yes yes they'll say that you can have jumps racing on the new track,im not the educated on the new track,so have no idea why. And in the South,i'm a Cantab thru and thru,and it's a shame what's happened to the National Carnival,it barely got off the ground last year and i imagine it will be the same struggle this year.It has beautiful fences that should get used way more than once a year. Things won't go back to how it was,but boy if only it could.

Total dedication is that Nigel. Good to hear Johnny say that in a way he wouldn't mind having a crack at the premiership,but of course with a massive team,travelling won't be easy,but could be the way to go if he wants a crack at winning it,as Blair won't slow down.

Yip,i came across the full screen last night. Tho when watching it the coverage seemed 'dark' and not as light as when i was watching it thru HRNZ,so after that i went BACK to the HRNZ page.

I happen to watch the races on my laptop,tho i don't think i'm that old at being late 40s lol. I do watch them on the laptop as my partner isn't really into the horses,so i'd rather watch it on the laptop OR phone and not have it on the TV to 'save' her from it LOL.

Yip i came across that as well.I now watch via Hrnz website,which goes full screen. No idea why it's like that on the TAB site,as it wasn't like that before the upgrade. Hopefully you get a reply at some point.

I was in the syndicate that used to race Tower Of Love. I was very surprised to see that he was so short,considering how his past runs were like. He definitely played up before the start,like he used to do,but once down he looked good,and definitely looked a different type of horse.Definitely hope he does go well and carries on from his win the other night.

I used to be able to put on EW multi bets,but for the life of me i can't even figure out how you do it now. I'm no dummy when it comes to navigating a website,but this one has me stumped.

Yip a bit of a shit show earlier today. I guess they'll all give us a $5 Bonus Bet tomorrow...can't wait.

Yea i got half of my return back. But i guess i was one of the confused punters,as before the last race i checked what they had backed and all i saw initially was that big bet of almost 600k on Orchestral,and then just before they jumped i saw that they did that top 4 and top 6 bet.After the race i checked again and that big bet wasn't there...unless i wasn't looking hard enough. Anyway i can't complain at getting half of my return back and feeling like a big time punter for a day.

So its bad enough that Tony is given the 'dont come monday' but he doesn't get too call ALL of the races on his last day?. And what's more he doesn't call the last of the day. Unless for some reason that was Tony's decision,that just seems wrong in my opinion.

Yip Alvin(Bluey's Chance) is definitely well travelled but he is very much well looked after. He actually had to be rushed back to Canterbury after her ran 3rd in the Greymouth Cup a few hours after that as he got a bad case of Colic,so it was very much touch and go. He got thru it and he ran so well today for Kenny and team,and by all reports that was probably his last run. Also a great result for Kenny with his game mare Lady T running 3rd in the Thorndon...huge day.

Some nice thoughts there Walt. Not going on Friday due to work and then child commitments after work,but will head out on Sunday....just hope the forecasted rain for Sunday doesn't happen.
