  2. And yes, if that doesn't get him inducted into the Hall of Fame then something is badly wrong.
  3. And another 7 rides at Gore tomorrow. How many is that in 4 consecutive days? And that after a crash at Cromwell. Pure talent, hard work and persistence.
  4. 2)A Trainer shall not start or attempt to start a horse in a Race in an item or items of Notifiable Gear unless permission has been obtained from a Stipendiary Steward before the horse is accepted or is deemed to be accepted for that Race.
  5. No. It is seeking permission and has to be approved by a stipe, so it is a request.
  6. Could be either but Thommo is reporting that the Bureau had no gear change requested.
  7. Shouldn't the horse have been declared a non-runner or disqualified?
  8. Well from the video, it looks like Nopele clearly raced in visors so as you say the notified gear of blinkers is incorrect and Thommo is right isn't he?
  9. Can you not switch between full cup, half-cup and visor blinkers provided blinkers are notified?
  10. That's an empirical assessment.
  11. Nope. Objective empirical assessments based on the data. Not subjective .25 second allowances depending whether the meeting is Wednesday or Saturday.
  12. Yip. Don't really care where they last ran. Just assess the performance there relative to expected performance.
  13. Because I can assess the expected times the horses would run and then assess the variance from that. Different tracks are no different than different track conditions to me. I pay no attention to penetrometer readings in that assessment. They are pretty much useless except as one indicator of what is likely.
  14. Why not? How else can you compare performances?
  15. Might be nice if NZTR could impose a condition on all overseas sales that such transactions must contain some sort of guarantee that they will result in the horses being subject to the same duty of care for retiring and rehoming that they would be subject to should they stay in NZ. Otherwise selling overseas becomes tantamount to evasion of the NZ rules.
  16. Where is the data supporting the .25 second differential? That's all I'm asking. So since you haven't provided it and I can't find it, I assume it's not there. Just a wrong assumption of yours.
  17. Yes. It just pisses me off to see fraudulent claims made about a myth that may mislead readers. So Thommo, please stop it.
  18. I didn't say there was no difference between classes. Can't you read? I said there was no difference between the same class, e.g., an R65, whether it's Wednesday or Saturday and 10k or 25k which you claimed there was.
  19. I don't give a stuff about your benchmark ratings and where did I ever say that there wasn't a difference between C3s and C4s in HK? So you have no data, analysis or evidence that a Prem R65 is any stronger than a 10k R65 in NZ? It's just your distorted opinion. Who knew?
  20. Ipso facto, of course they'd do that since it's no harder to win a 22k race on Saturday than a 10k one mid week.
  21. You are so full of S%#T Thommo. I'm not talking about HK. We are talking about NZ. Yes, there is a clear difference in HK but where is your data/analysis showing that there is a difference between tiers in NZ. I can't find any evidence and evidently neither can you or you'd surely just post it, if it existed, wouldn't you?
  22. Yes. Because under the 03 Act and since, the Racing Board and its successors had the final say on granting racedates and any conditions for that?
  23. You didn't answer my question above Thommo. I don't think the prime viewing areas at Ellerslie have anything to do with it, or by HQ did you mean that dodgy joint down on the viaduct?
  24. A journalist??? who also doesn't appear to have spoken to the subject of his article. That's gossip, not journalism.
