  1. Which is why I reckon wins to individual starters would be a more useful stat.
  2. What do you suggest be done about it @Chief Stipe ? We all know that the stipes don't, won't or can't capture every infraction that occurs. We can hardly throw out the rules that aren't enforced at every instance of a breach can we?
  3. How is it out of context? It's a direct unedited clip from the replay video. Strike on the flank from arm above shoulder. Anyone in the stand or watching the tv replay would see it but not a mention from the stipes.
  4. Here it is in a clip direct from the NZTR replay. You shouldn't need to bother with slomo. A blindman could see it. vlc-record-2025-06-21-11h10m59s-Video player NZRacing_2025 06 21_11 04 16_1_391.mp4-.mp4
  5. The ammo is aimed to get it addressed since direct attempts fall on deaf ears.
  6. Oops, a couple of my posts intended for here ended up in the Ascot thread. Anyway, life time, Bart Cummings had a 13.5% win strike rate. That would do me.
  7. He said "unless we as an industry address this we are just giving the crazies ammunition"
  8. The source of mine is the NZTR race replay on their website. The stewards have the HD slo mo vid to inspect don't they? It's a part frame because I don't want to show 2 violations in one pic. No biggie. There's plenty who use it correctly or are trying to learn.
  9. Here's one for you in the first today to keep you going. I backed it too
  10. I doubt I'll be waiting until tomorrow. Good if you leave the activists alone though. We need all the help we can get to encourage the powers that be to listen.
  11. For me as an owner, as I said, I don't really care about strike rate. If they can win a couple of races in a season and we have some fun and a couple of thrills, all good. Whether they do that in 10 starts or 20 is immaterial.
  12. I wonder how SI starter numbers have tracked over recent seasons. Can't seem to find that.
  13. As a punter or owner, I could care less about trainer strike rates. Meaningless to me. Wins or stakes earned per individual starter might be of some interest as an owner, though not something I've looked at.
  14. I quite agree with you on that. However, lesser doesn't mean not critical and you'd think NZTR could work on fixing more than one issue at a time.
  15. The other jockey did. Also quite evident on the video. That was ignored as well.
  16. There's no point sending pictures to the RIB. NZTR are responsible for the rules, penalties and their enforcement and their response is that they don't see a problem with the current rules or their enforcement. That is in response to my road show question about it last year. You certainly can't do that from the head on but don't the stewards have inside vision as well? If not they should organise it. How do you think other juridictions signed up to the same rules enforce them as effectively as they seem to?
  17. It proves to me that the jockey struck the horse in the flank. Is that not what you see? I don't see what the other jockey has to do with it?
  18. Tabcorp and NSW government’s delicate dance as Gill hunts the trifecta By Bren O'Brien - June 19, 2025 When NSW treasurer Daniel Mookhey delivers his third state budget on Tuesday, there is unlikely to be any mention of a rise in Point of Consumption Tax (POCT) or the ongoing review of Tabcorp’s deal in the state. Tabcorp chief executive Gillon McLachlan is pushing for a NSW reform deal to be integrated into his broader goal broader goal of creating a national tote pool. (Photo: The Image is Everything - Bronwen Healy & Darren Tindale Photography) This time last year, speculation was rife that Mookhey would look to lift the NSW POCT rate from 15 to 20 per cent, much to the chagrin of racing administrators, wagering executives and professional punters. However, a week out from the 2024 budget, the treasurer announced a review into Tabcorp’s licensing agreements in NSW after receiving a proposal from the wagering giant to create what it calls a ‘level playing field’ – although its rivals beg to differ. Put simply, it wanted a similar deal to what it had achieved in Victoria and Queensland and was willing to pay a considerable fee – said to be around $700 million - to buy out of its current exclusivity deal which runs until 2033.
  19. What rules can't be enforced? You mentioned that on the closed thread about the flank rule. If you've been watching Ascot you won't see anything that comes close to a flank strike. Here it's multiple horses in most races. And they are not just momentary indentations. Go stand at the exit to the birdcage after a race for a few races next time you are there. I guarantee you'll see whip marks on the flank of a couple of horses most races.
  20. Might just be someone using a betting plan like Kelly? Or, more likely the bet was restricted to winning 2k.
  21. That had me flummoxed too
