Meeting News Taranaki Meeting Coming Forward/Rotorua Update After looking at forecasts, and discussing with the clubs and RIB, below are updates relating to the Taranaki and Rotorua Meetings on Saturday and Sunday respectively. These have been approved by Entain/TAB NZ. Taranaki - 17 August We note that the worst of the weather is currently forecast for mid-afternoon Saturday. To this end the meeting has been brought forward two races with Race 1 now scheduled for 11.20am and Race 8 at 3.15pm. NZTR believe this will give the meeting the best chance to take place uninterrupted. Rotorua – 18 August Despite rain predicted on Saturday/Sunday NZTR believes the best decision is to proceed with the meeting as it stands. If, after a track inspection on Sunday morning, this meeting cannot proceed then it will be postponed 24 hours until Monday.

Yeahh, if as it looks probably needed maybe 50+mms more polytrack mix, remixing and maybe re-waxing. Hard to do that between races or on race morning.

Foxton beach up there too.

Good question but you'd certainly hope so. Mainly to check the grooming has the surface fully mixed and hasn't dragged it off the substrate in places as it appears to have here. Can we find out?

At least. In the below it says 7"compacted and a further loose 3" above that. Mostly I've seen 7" total. For Tapeta it's less 100-175mm.

Doesn't matter much if there's not enough on there to provide a cushion or if it's not evenly groomed to cover the substrate. This is from the finish of the last at Awapuni a week ago. It's supposed to have 175mm of top mix and the sand should not be separated out. Didn't get the HD of this but it sure doesn't look good.

But they are taking debit cards. I'm not aware that Betfair accept Paysafe payments. How do you do that when it's not offered as a payment option?

Looks like it. They've taken racing from pretty much paying its way 15 years ago to the verge of extinction generating maybe half its costs from net revenue, primarily surviving due to the generosity of the NZ taxpayer.

I rode in that once I think though it may have been a point to point there (what happened to those?). John Parsons rode the winner that day. Only one left standing of 5 or 6 runners. I fell with a round to go!
