    OK. Thanks Gamma. I'm not a trotting person, so not really up with the play but spotted this thread. Just remembered him being suspended but think that was overturned despite a Supreme Court ruling upholding it? Sounds like an appropriate result in the end.

    I don't see the point of seeding in a 6 week window from being beaten in the next month. The other things can be done in a day or two regardless of useage and are routine I'd have thought. What the tree reduction and irrigation improvements have to do with any rehabilitation I don't understand.

    Yes, the Ballymore example is a more recent one as are the ex state stables in Oz such as Waller in Queensland and those are run by assistant trainers, not co-trainers as is proposed here. In NZ, the likes of Walker and Marsh have had satellite stables in the SI also headed by assistant trainers. I don't see the problem nor that one is likely.

    It certainly goes back a long way without a problem since training partnerships became a thing. I remember for example, the Chris Waller/Heather Weller partnership operating successfully at Foxton when Chris first moved to Sydney.

    Except that no serious punter, or bookie for that matter, is going to go to the races with $1m and aim to make a $1m. They'll go with a $1m and expect to make 50k. That would be no fun for the BGP crowd.

    I think the bigger outfits like Marsh and TA are the ones who might have or have had a chance to wreak some change there, but they seem to just moan quietly and speak with their feet.

    25% is a bit of an understatement. Waller's basic daily rate is $A180. That's double or more most NZ trainers. The rest I agree with.
