Yes a total blight on the harness industry to try and nail many members of the harness racing fraternity and for WHAt. From the hearsay evidence I have heard, it was making a mountain out of a molehill, and has left a black mark and bad taste in the mouth of harness participants that the general public have seen! The RIU, should take a serious look at the very poor exhibition of their talents or lack of talent! The amount of money drained from the accused having to defend themselves is quite abhorrent and also the loss of dignity while the accused had to continue with the charges against them for many years! Most probably have an opinion on Operation Inca, but from my point of view it shouldve been changed to OPERATION STINKA! Are the accused going to have their costs reimbursed to them by HRNZ?

Interesting also is that these betting agencies are supposedly meant to be concerned for losing punters? Yeah right, more the better for them! No winners allowed! Mustve been a very poor punter for some reason.

Where are the punters that they actually allow to wager, going to get the extra $ to punt? They are clueless to be putting in extra races in Auckland as it is a dieing industry in the North most of us can see that! Let the punters punt, or turn out the lights!

The thing is the damage to the harness image going forward. From what I have heard there really wasnt anything out of the ordinary and it was handled so poorly by both HRNZ and the Police! Ffs, to be having these raids on trainers property was farcical. The financial, mental and reputation cost to trainers and drivers in the industry will never be recovered. Racing Integrity Unit missing in action as they were the ones that I wouldve thought shouldve dealt with it, inhouse without the police becoming involved as it clearly shows was flimsy at best!

Racing would fold in NZ if this bs came in here! Many harness meetings are running at losses and the TAB are making some poor decisions currently!

Yeah I can, just restricted to pathetic amounts! The TAB obviously thinks $20 is about all they can afford to lose on certain bets.

It is all about yield for the Bookies, rather than turnover! Yes they do have blinkers on and dont look at the big picture! The business plan is very flawed but they dont seem to care as long as they are getting paid! Certain restricted punters arent going to be getter their restrictions loosened anytime soon unless someone knows better?

Wouldnt know Ranga. Dont believe that if they thought long and hard about their decisions they couldnt hustify them with any logic.

Ranga, they are invited to put their point of view forward every single time that a posting is made questioning their actions and business plan! The fact that they are always silent tends to suggest that they can not support or defend their actions! Would love for them to prove us wrong but I dont think that they nave anyone that can justify many of their decisions! More than happy for them to prove us wrong if they can?

BOAY is a harness racing forum and open for anyone to post their thoughts and opinions! Several of us make posts on things they think are currently wrong with harness racing and make suggestions as to how things could be improved etc.! It is disappointing that we do not seem to have anyone from HRNZ or TAB/Entain actually come on here and advise us why they do things the way they are, and to be honest it seems very gutless! Why on earth do they just sit in their offices and allow the industry to be decimated ks hard to fathom, however they seem to be happy enough as long as they are continuing to receive their salaries into their Bank account! Come on HRNZ and TAB/Entain, come in and express your reasons for why you make what Many of us consider detrimental decisions!

Tabman, first and foremost, we are not threatened by BGP at all, quite the opposite! I reiterate, it is the treatment of punters differently I find abhorrent!! If BGP want to punt as a syndicate that is great but they should not get preferential treatment as well as money donated back to them, whilst other punters get shafted! You are also incorrect if you think Brodie is looking for overs and Bookies midtskes when setting odds! If he likes something he accepts market odds and quite often unders! Betting agencies put up the odds and as such should be accepting the bets of punters and to shut down anyone who is prepared to accept the odds they offer! They are shooting themselves in the foot for the future of racing!

Great to see the new Government overturning so many things that the previous losers introduced. They have done so many things that are positive for NZ, whereas I can not think of a single thing that Liebour did that was successful in the 6 years that they manipulated NZ? Great to see that the Govt. Is reducing staff no.s at the Department of Internal Affairs that administer the crazy Anti Money Laundering Bill! Hopefully the TAB will be forced to follow the actual law of the NZ Anti Money Laundering Act as the limit is not $1,000!!!!! Who in their wildest dreams believes that people are money laundering punting on to win only $1k? Not sure who was the clown that wanted the $1k limit as it is not what is required by the Act, and is a waste of time and costing the TAB and racing industry financially big time. Rather than altering the graphics on Trackside and saying how it was so great, how about the CEO spend some time actually finding out why they are breaking the rules of the AML ACT?? But then the $1k has nothing to do with money laundering, it is all to do with control, most of us know that!

TAB, You are totally correct when you say that the TAB should be concentrating on getting their existing clients to invest more! But unfortunately for them , they havent as yet received your memorandum! They seem to believe that it is in their best interests to piss their existing clients off by trying to get rid of them!! As I have stated many times, their business plan is seriously flawed, and their practice of putting yield over turnover is not what they need to be doing! You are incorrect when you state that there are knockers of BGP, quite the opposite I would say! What these so called knockers do not like, is the preferential treatment that they are given by the TAB! Yes they are good for racing but they should be capable of standing on their own feet and not be given preferential treatment over other paying customers!

The Casinos have a much larger limit for the AML than what the NZ TAB are falsely using here! The $1k limit that the NZ TAB are using has got nothing to do with Anti Money Laundering, or they would be using the correct limit in terms of the NZ law!!

Casinos do have table limits, we all know that! I have no problem with that at all! Everyone has to abide by that limit, and therefore everyone is treated EQUALLY!! This is not the case with the TAB, and this is my continued point I am making! Everyone is NOT treated equally, some are treated favourably and can get anything on and others are victimised and heavily restricted! Quite the opposite of Casino’s!!

Experienced that as well! You cant really call them Bookmakers as such, pretty gutless! The thing is that they are going to stop the bigger investing punters as it is not worth their time! Yes they only want people that arent really taking the punting seriously, but those punters eventually dont have the money to invest or they move on! Reality is that new punters that are going to bother wagering on racing especially harness is going to be fewer and fewer. Personally do not think I know anyone in the past decade that gave just started punting on racing and I am sure this is true with most on here. TAB/ Entain need punters whereas I dont need Tab/Entain?

With total respect Gamma, i don’t need any sympathy from anyone for being treated unfairly by the TAB, and I am not the only one that this is happening to. The TAB/Entain advertise their betting services and then when you try and use them you are basically shut down! Havent got a problem with punters having gambling limits imposed on them if they require them, but they are normally self imposed rather than by the TAB. Ladbrokes Australia are owned by Entain as I understand it so wont be any favours from them as I already know! Anyway more profitable ways of making $ without the frustration of being treated unfairly by the monopoly!

They do not play fair and have made it very difficult for restricted punters. Anyway, it is what it is, but I do know that many find it very hard to believe that the TAB/Entain stop people from winning, and they say well if that is the case they wont bother betting with them!

That bet minimum of $2k is for ff win betting only! Bring it in for all wagering or at least have reasonable levels! $20 I do not consider a reasonable level! Anyway, if most agree with the way the TAb/Entain are operating in regards to limitations on certain punters on account then so be it! Maybe there are other ways to skin a cat??

Their rules would not be legal if contested! Just like the Government policy of mandating the Pfizer Toxic jabs for school teachers and police etc! It has been recently determined to have been illegal to force citizens to have the toxins injected into them! Just because the TAB say they can be discriminatory, doesnt mean it is LEGAL!!! Anyway they are doing the industry a disservice by pissing off their client base. Punters will desert them and they wont get replacements!

So restricted punters are obviously not included in this rule! Takes a lot of bets for restricted punters to net $1m
