Gamma, Just because they do it, and are currently getting away with these restrictions, make it ethical or legal! I am under the misunderstanding that you were not allowed to discriminate against people? Not interested in betting with syndicates on galloping or harness, the challenge and enjoyment comes from personal selection. Anyway the TAB and racing are going to have severe headwinds in the future by their actions and decision making. Ps. If someone does chuck a lazy 5k on red and wins, then there is no doubt that he will be giving it back with interest to the Casino!

Gamma, I was always loyal to the NZ TAB for decades and then when the NZ TAB decided that Brodie and others are not allowed to win, I was advised to wager overseas in Oz. I learnt that they are no more lenient over there! I am clearly under the misunderstanding that the TAB is a Betting Agency and that if you are good enough to make money, it is legal for the betting agency to not play fair and basically stop you! The TAB turnover is massive and my turnover is a drop in the bucket for them and yet the restrictions are just pathetically low, and yet others are allowed To win anything! In reality I do not need to be wagering, however I used to do it for the challenge, but then the actions of the TAB changed that a bit! I get it that they want to make plenty of $ so that they can afford to make plenty and pay the large salaries! However I do not know any other business that would get away with stopping people from spending more money than someone else in someones business??

Would the TAB/Entain allow me on for $20 on that one?? Cracked record I realise, but when there is an injustice occurring, the “Brodster” just doesn’t rollover easily and accept wrong doing! My tirade for the unfairly treated punters in NZ is in the hands of the TAB/Entain, if they believe that they want to continue to favour some punters by rewarding them and yet victimise others, then I need to continue to point out just how ethically wrong that is! I am a speaking up for all the restricted punters in NZ, and I do not know how many there are, but I am not apologising, as I know the CEO of Entain, would not sit back and say nothing if he suddenly had his salary from Entain restricted to next to nothing!!!!! They say they have a minimum bet amount that they are adhering to and that is plain rubbish and they know that! The business plan that the TAB have adopted for many years is so seriously flawed! Instead of worrying about crucifying punters, they need to be encouraging them and they were prepared to selectively encourage that the other night, by gifting BOYS GET PAID over $25k! Tabman, I don’t know anyone that is jealous of BGP, quite the opposite. they are having fun and getting new people into their betting syndicate which is great. I have no problem with them whatsoever . The issue I do have is that the TAB! The TAB/Entain allow them on for any amount and can be allowed to win $1m no problem! Whereas other punters who are not BGP can not get worthwhile amounts on and have restrictions that are so damn pathetic it is not worth it, which is what they want. Do you think a restriction of being allowed to net $20 is reasonable from the TAB! All I ask and I am sure other restricted punters is that they are allowed on to win reasonable amounts! Let’s say there are 2 Bookies that set the odds for harness racing. 1. 30 year old white male been with the TAB for 5 years and is on a salary of say $150k 2. 35 year old white female been with TAB for 10 years and on a salary of $100k! How do you think the 35 white female thinks about the situation! Would this be cause for a grievance with the TAB? This is basically in essence what restricted punters are receiving but on a much bigger scale! As for the TAB raising my limits are you serious when you ask that?

Lol you are kidding aren’t you? All I ask is for all punters to be treated equally! If I have a restriction to be able to only win $20 on certain bets then everyone should be restricted to that! When they slash the shit out of something I have backed and don’t let you back on at the reduced odds it is BS! Elite Punters to my take is LOSING PUNTERS who spend! Winning punters that were ELITE are given nothing, quite the opposite ! Tab/Entain: Boys Get Paid, put on as much as you like and we will let you on, doesnt matter how much! Great for publicity! Winning Punters: Hey, you are not allowed to win money from us, that is not what we want. You need to be a losing punter to have an account with us! You win and we will restrict you to amounts that are not worth the time and effort, so you stop punting with them! Well Entain/Tab, You may well stop successful punters betting with you, but until such time as you start treating punters equally, Brodie will continue to call you out!!!!! If any other business treated their customers the way you do, by victimising some and giving preferential treatment to others, they would be before the commerce commission!

What we need is the marketing manager or Dean Shannon come on here and give their side of the story, and not their apologist TABFORVEVER! There are these people who are rah rah about Entain being the heroes and going to be the saviour of racing in NZ. TAB buying horses and gifting everyone ownership rights, increased stake money and being the nice guys! Reality is that they are not the nice guys, doesnt matter how nicely they smile and promise this and that. The ones being paid by them are scared to actually say what they think, just like what the TV channels over the past few years, where they were paid for pushing the Covid vaccines onto everyone! These people were paid to sell the BS to us and were being paid off so they did what they were told. The chickens have come home to roost and are we sympathetic, I am not, they have damaged peoples health and decimated the country thru their efforts!

Correct. I have no problem with BGP, If it gets new punters into the industry and increases turnover then it has to be good! However the way the TAB has treated punters unequally for many years is abhorrent and should not be happening! This BS of gifting BGP the $ that they lost is just another example of treating people differently. They should not be getting away with it!! Chief, there are clearly many things that Brodie doesnt understand nowadays! People bought into the BGP betting fund that was promoted on the TAB web site!! There was a loss of 25k on the night but the gambling business run by the TAB said hey, you lost money so we will give the money lost back to everyone! It is just blatant BS when all other punters who wager that are not in the BGP syndicate do not get any losses refunded!!! The decision to do this is just another unethical decision made by the TAB/Entain and as far as Brodie is concerned they can go get one in them! I am over this very dishonest business, and it is not the first time that some have been reimbursed for a losing bet and others who had the same bet were not! I do not need this crap so not going to bother again, which wont bother them, but hope they get their just deserts!!! those that think that Entain is this great outfit will change their mind when they lose their jobs! Spatchcock, you for one should know that this is for publicity for Entain/TAB and is it good publicity? Hardly! You also know that how the TAB treats restricted punters is also ethically wrong! For the TAB/Entain to refund BGP anything is absolute BS! this is not the first time that the TAB has refunded certain punters and not others and they have very poor ethics at times that they choose! As Galah states you can see who the TAB appreciates as punters and it isnt the punters who have been with them for decades! This is just another example of how they show favouritism to some over other punters! The TAB hierarchy have come out saying how great Entain is flr NZ racing, well lets just see if these same people say how great they are when they lose their jobs! Would be good to hear someone from Entain come out and justify why they are prepared to donate tens of thousands to BGP on one hand, and yet restrict other punters to be able to win $20 that’s right $20 on a bet??????????

Surely the TAB arent going to refund the BGP the amount they have lost?????? Think they must be having us on???? If it is true then this is just another reason why the TAB are not HONEST! They havent treated certain punters fairly for a long time! If Boys Get Paid have got any credibility and they have been refunded the amount they lost, they would donate the whole lot to a worthwhile CHARITY! If the TAB/ Entain have refunded the amount lost to BGP then Entain can not be trusted and I hope you get an absolute hiding from the punters! This is a very sad day for all punters if it is true and Entain you are an absolute disgrace with your actions towards other punters that are not BGP!!!!!!!!!

To be fair Merlin had a great run, if the roles were reversed I would say Dont Stop Dreaming wouldve won! Thing is if you arent handy turning for home at Cambridge in those tighter class races then you aint winning! Great that Cambridge is holding the event for the big boys, and harness needs big promotion, so if it actually brings new people into harness racing then that is what we need! Maybe if these corporates and bigger owners have money to throw around, then why dont they do it more often for smaller amounts, during the rest of the season! Have the meetings at Addington though, far better track for racing and much fairer!

Personally think it is a terrible race to be betting into! Just about any of the horses can win on the night if they get the run! I think the trotters is actually going to be a better race to watch. Going to be interesting to see how much they turnover on the night!
