They should never have ever signed away the TAB to anyone for 25 years and given control on the basis that money was going to be gifted, and this crazy decision is going to haunt NZ racing for ever! We can clearly see that everything will be run from Ozzie, the new betting website info is now being produced by Australia. There will be no need for employees in NZ!

I believe that they want to slow down harness punters as they dont want the serious punters. Reality is going to hit home that Entain wanted total control of the Sports wagering, the extra money guaranteed to racing is a drop in the bucket for them and it was what the industry was sucked into! Who gives anyone control of anything for 25 years, except marriage? Think it was 2 years that they guaranteed jobs in NZ, if you work in Wellington you should be thinking about retraining. The intention all along has been to operate NZ wagering out of Ozzie, you can see that by the changes being made now.

The fixed odds are not available at either sellers or self service at pub tabs! Available on account only at this stage. Things are not looking great for punters of harness and the industry going forward!

Most would bet on account for convenience, but it gives TAB the total control it wants. They dont care about gallop punters but the harness punters are better punters, and therefore are treated differently. Things are not going to improve for harness punters, despite people saying that the CEO Dean Shannon is all for harness! Maybe it is just a glitch with things with Addington tomorrow, but from what I have seen I doubt it! Hopefully I am totally wrong about them!🤔

Not sure what is going on Newmarket? Fixed odds available on TAB web site and you will be able to bet on account so they can monitor all bets. Pub tabs have fixed odds up for Ruakaka gallops tomorrow but not for Addington? There are no option no.s up on web site or I can not see them on there, so how do you bet at agency thru the sellers on fixed? Maybe it is a glitch but I would not be surprised if they are starting to phase out fixed odds on harness at agencies and Pub tabs! it is blatantly obvious that the NZ TAB is going to operated out of Australia and staff in NZ will be culled. Some think Entain are the White Knight for racing, but from where I am sitting I wouldnt be holding my breath! They want everyone betting on account, they want total control and without the need for staff.

How much will they let me win? $50? How is anyone now able to bet at pubtabs thru a seller without an OPTION NO.??? Where are the option no.s? Not available to bet fixed odds at Pubtabs as not showing on screen, and yet you can on your account? Going to be very interesting I would say as to what is going down!

The new TAB web site has all these betting options available! You can bet on account but it appears that you can not at the Agencies or Pubtabs??? No option no’s given by the look of it and also you can not get a bet on apart from account. The fixed odds are out for Addington tomorrow but they are not available at Pubtabs for some reason? Is this what Entain/TAB have in store for punters now?? This is looking more like a dumb decision to have sold the TAB to Entain! Watch this space, they are bringing in all these changes for one reason and that is not for the betterment of the punter nor industry. Just been manoeuvring my way around the brand new TAB web site! Much the same as the Ozzie ones. There are some good features that are an improvement so lets hope it improves things for their customer base of punters? No doubt they are trying to get more wagering on and they will be no doubt dropping the punter restrictions which have been applied to certain punters. Once they have done this shortly, I can guarantee that the TAB turnover will increase significantly, and that is what they are wanting. What is a major negative though is that they have removed the race commentary for each of the horses last starts and just has stuff that is not that useful. They did this last year with the ozzie harness and I am sure this has resulted in less punting on Ozzie harness. Anyway onwards and upwards with Entain

I am clearly under the misapprehension that the TAB is in the gambling industry! Apparently it isnt, gambling I thought means some lose and some can win if they are good enough? Not with the TAB/Entain, they run it by only having allowing people that bet with them to lose! They need to be upfront with their advertising, and clearly state that we are only taking money from punters that are going to lose ! If you are wanting to take money off us, forget about it, we will make it hard for you!

Yes we need more horses to be racing in the North Island indeed, TAB! Hope they come but is going to be very hard work! Do we know how much as actually wagered at that meeting and on that race? Yes there are certainly ways of getting increased wagering at the TAB. I will give you and Entain the tip, it isnt by restricting punters by pissing them all off. Totally flawed business plan! Increase and encourage punters, forget the yield over turnover. The profit will come.

Whoever is making these decisions are in la la land! There just isnt the appetite for racing harness horses in the north Island like there is in the South Island. Wonder how long it will take for them to realise that all they are going to do is lose more money for the industry! Something not going well so we chuck more at it?

Yes a total blight on the harness industry to try and nail many members of the harness racing fraternity and for WHAt. From the hearsay evidence I have heard, it was making a mountain out of a molehill, and has left a black mark and bad taste in the mouth of harness participants that the general public have seen! The RIU, should take a serious look at the very poor exhibition of their talents or lack of talent! The amount of money drained from the accused having to defend themselves is quite abhorrent and also the loss of dignity while the accused had to continue with the charges against them for many years! Most probably have an opinion on Operation Inca, but from my point of view it shouldve been changed to OPERATION STINKA! Are the accused going to have their costs reimbursed to them by HRNZ?

Where are the punters that they actually allow to wager, going to get the extra $ to punt? They are clueless to be putting in extra races in Auckland as it is a dieing industry in the North most of us can see that! Let the punters punt, or turn out the lights!

The thing is the damage to the harness image going forward. From what I have heard there really wasnt anything out of the ordinary and it was handled so poorly by both HRNZ and the Police! Ffs, to be having these raids on trainers property was farcical. The financial, mental and reputation cost to trainers and drivers in the industry will never be recovered. Racing Integrity Unit missing in action as they were the ones that I wouldve thought shouldve dealt with it, inhouse without the police becoming involved as it clearly shows was flimsy at best!

Racing would fold in NZ if this bs came in here! Many harness meetings are running at losses and the TAB are making some poor decisions currently!

Yeah I can, just restricted to pathetic amounts! The TAB obviously thinks $20 is about all they can afford to lose on certain bets.

It is all about yield for the Bookies, rather than turnover! Yes they do have blinkers on and dont look at the big picture! The business plan is very flawed but they dont seem to care as long as they are getting paid! Certain restricted punters arent going to be getter their restrictions loosened anytime soon unless someone knows better?
