Ranga, they are invited to put their point of view forward every single time that a posting is made questioning their actions and business plan! The fact that they are always silent tends to suggest that they can not support or defend their actions! Would love for them to prove us wrong but I dont think that they nave anyone that can justify many of their decisions! More than happy for them to prove us wrong if they can?

BOAY is a harness racing forum and open for anyone to post their thoughts and opinions! Several of us make posts on things they think are currently wrong with harness racing and make suggestions as to how things could be improved etc.! It is disappointing that we do not seem to have anyone from HRNZ or TAB/Entain actually come on here and advise us why they do things the way they are, and to be honest it seems very gutless! Why on earth do they just sit in their offices and allow the industry to be decimated ks hard to fathom, however they seem to be happy enough as long as they are continuing to receive their salaries into their Bank account! Come on HRNZ and TAB/Entain, come in and express your reasons for why you make what Many of us consider detrimental decisions!

Tabman, first and foremost, we are not threatened by BGP at all, quite the opposite! I reiterate, it is the treatment of punters differently I find abhorrent!! If BGP want to punt as a syndicate that is great but they should not get preferential treatment as well as money donated back to them, whilst other punters get shafted! You are also incorrect if you think Brodie is looking for overs and Bookies midtskes when setting odds! If he likes something he accepts market odds and quite often unders! Betting agencies put up the odds and as such should be accepting the bets of punters and to shut down anyone who is prepared to accept the odds they offer! They are shooting themselves in the foot for the future of racing!

Great to see the new Government overturning so many things that the previous losers introduced. They have done so many things that are positive for NZ, whereas I can not think of a single thing that Liebour did that was successful in the 6 years that they manipulated NZ? Great to see that the Govt. Is reducing staff no.s at the Department of Internal Affairs that administer the crazy Anti Money Laundering Bill! Hopefully the TAB will be forced to follow the actual law of the NZ Anti Money Laundering Act as the limit is not $1,000!!!!! Who in their wildest dreams believes that people are money laundering punting on to win only $1k? Not sure who was the clown that wanted the $1k limit as it is not what is required by the Act, and is a waste of time and costing the TAB and racing industry financially big time. Rather than altering the graphics on Trackside and saying how it was so great, how about the CEO spend some time actually finding out why they are breaking the rules of the AML ACT?? But then the $1k has nothing to do with money laundering, it is all to do with control, most of us know that!

TAB, You are totally correct when you say that the TAB should be concentrating on getting their existing clients to invest more! But unfortunately for them , they havent as yet received your memorandum! They seem to believe that it is in their best interests to piss their existing clients off by trying to get rid of them!! As I have stated many times, their business plan is seriously flawed, and their practice of putting yield over turnover is not what they need to be doing! You are incorrect when you state that there are knockers of BGP, quite the opposite I would say! What these so called knockers do not like, is the preferential treatment that they are given by the TAB! Yes they are good for racing but they should be capable of standing on their own feet and not be given preferential treatment over other paying customers!

The Casinos have a much larger limit for the AML than what the NZ TAB are falsely using here! The $1k limit that the NZ TAB are using has got nothing to do with Anti Money Laundering, or they would be using the correct limit in terms of the NZ law!!

Casinos do have table limits, we all know that! I have no problem with that at all! Everyone has to abide by that limit, and therefore everyone is treated EQUALLY!! This is not the case with the TAB, and this is my continued point I am making! Everyone is NOT treated equally, some are treated favourably and can get anything on and others are victimised and heavily restricted! Quite the opposite of Casino’s!!

Experienced that as well! You cant really call them Bookmakers as such, pretty gutless! The thing is that they are going to stop the bigger investing punters as it is not worth their time! Yes they only want people that arent really taking the punting seriously, but those punters eventually dont have the money to invest or they move on! Reality is that new punters that are going to bother wagering on racing especially harness is going to be fewer and fewer. Personally do not think I know anyone in the past decade that gave just started punting on racing and I am sure this is true with most on here. TAB/ Entain need punters whereas I dont need Tab/Entain?

With total respect Gamma, i don’t need any sympathy from anyone for being treated unfairly by the TAB, and I am not the only one that this is happening to. The TAB/Entain advertise their betting services and then when you try and use them you are basically shut down! Havent got a problem with punters having gambling limits imposed on them if they require them, but they are normally self imposed rather than by the TAB. Ladbrokes Australia are owned by Entain as I understand it so wont be any favours from them as I already know! Anyway more profitable ways of making $ without the frustration of being treated unfairly by the monopoly!

Anyway, it is what it is, but I do know that many find it very hard to believe that the TAB/Entain stop people from winning, and they say well if that is the case they wont bother betting with them!

That bet minimum of $2k is for ff win betting only! Bring it in for all wagering or at least have reasonable levels! $20 I do not consider a reasonable level! Anyway, if most agree with the way the TAb/Entain are operating in regards to limitations on certain punters on account then so be it! Maybe there are other ways to skin a cat??

Their rules would not be legal if contested! Just like the Government policy of mandating the Pfizer Toxic jabs for school teachers and police etc! It has been recently determined to have been illegal to force citizens to have the toxins injected into them! Just because the TAB say they can be discriminatory, doesnt mean it is LEGAL!!! Yeah, he was allowed to net $2k on a bet, wonder what it is now? Would like TAB to advise how many are actually restricted in Nz! $2k on any bet would be far better than Brodie gets!!

Gamma, Just because they do it, and are currently getting away with these restrictions, make it ethical or legal! I am under the misunderstanding that you were not allowed to discriminate against people? Not interested in betting with syndicates on galloping or harness, the challenge and enjoyment comes from personal selection. Anyway the TAB and racing are going to have severe headwinds in the future by their actions and decision making. Ps. If someone does chuck a lazy 5k on red and wins, then there is no doubt that he will be giving it back with interest to the Casino!

Gamma, I was always loyal to the NZ TAB for decades and then when the NZ TAB decided that Brodie and others are not allowed to win, I was advised to wager overseas in Oz. I learnt that they are no more lenient over there! I am clearly under the misunderstanding that the TAB is a Betting Agency and that if you are good enough to make money, it is legal for the betting agency to not play fair and basically stop you! The TAB turnover is massive and my turnover is a drop in the bucket for them and yet the restrictions are just pathetically low, and yet others are allowed To win anything! In reality I do not need to be wagering, however I used to do it for the challenge, but then the actions of the TAB changed that a bit! I get it that they want to make plenty of $ so that they can afford to make plenty and pay the large salaries! However I do not know any other business that would get away with stopping people from spending more money than someone else in someones business??

Would the TAB/Entain allow me on for $20 on that one?? Cracked record I realise, but when there is an injustice occurring, the “Brodster” just doesn’t rollover easily and accept wrong doing! My tirade for the unfairly treated punters in NZ is in the hands of the TAB/Entain, if they believe that they want to continue to favour some punters by rewarding them and yet victimise others, then I need to continue to point out just how ethically wrong that is! I am a speaking up for all the restricted punters in NZ, and I do not know how many there are, but I am not apologising, as I know the CEO of Entain, would not sit back and say nothing if he suddenly had his salary from Entain restricted to next to nothing!!!!! They say they have a minimum bet amount that they are adhering to and that is plain rubbish and they know that! The business plan that the TAB have adopted for many years is so seriously flawed! Instead of worrying about crucifying punters, they need to be encouraging them and they were prepared to selectively encourage that the other night, by gifting BOYS GET PAID over $25k! How on earth is that right TAB/ENTAIN?

Tabman, I don’t know anyone that is jealous of BGP, quite the opposite. they are having fun and getting new people into their betting syndicate which is great. I have no problem with them whatsoever . The issue I do have is that the TAB! The TAB/Entain allow them on for any amount and can be allowed to win $1m no problem! Whereas other punters who are not BGP can not get worthwhile amounts on and have restrictions that are so damn pathetic it is not worth it, which is what they want. Do you think a restriction of being allowed to net $20 is reasonable from the TAB! All I ask and I am sure other restricted punters is that they are allowed on to win reasonable amounts! Let’s say there are 2 Bookies that set the odds for harness racing. 1. 30 year old white male been with the TAB for 5 years and is on a salary of say $150k 2. 35 year old white female been with TAB for 10 years and on a salary of $100k! How do you think the 35 white female thinks about the situation! Would this be cause for a grievance with the TAB? This is basically in essence what restricted punters are receiving but on a much bigger scale! As for the TAB raising my limits are you serious when you ask that?

Bollacks that they care about their customers! Mr Dean Shannon was asked a question. ”Are you comfortable with geo-blocking legislation including minimum bet laws to ensure NZ punters get treated fairly, under a monopoly?” Mr Dean Shannon’s answer! yes, i’m very comfortable with it, we want punters to have a fair go, it’s not only limited to minimum bet but also pricing we want to ensure we deliver a world class product to the New Zealand customers, and we want them to enjoy the experience and part of that is having very competitive pricing” Brodie: You want punters to have a fair go? So allowing certain punters to net $20 is a FAIR GO Mr Shannon? Minimum bet? What is this minimum bet you are saying $20, cos some punters bets are limited to such pathetic amounts, but this is obviously what Entain thinks is a FAIR GO? Mr Shannon wants Tab Entain customers to enjoy the experience! Well I can ensure you TAB/ENTAIN that I personally do not enjoy the experience of being restricted and being treated unfairly to other punters!!!!!!! Now TABFOREVER, why dont you get your mates to respond??

Lol you are kidding aren’t you? All I ask is for all punters to be treated equally! If I have a restriction to be able to only win $20 on certain bets then everyone should be restricted to that! When they slash the shit out of something I have backed and don’t let you back on at the reduced odds it is BS! I do the punting as a challenge , yes the money is useful but I don’t necessarily need it! If they want turnover increased I can do that for them, by having these pathetic restrictions they are doing more harm than good. i will post later tonight something that will show what we are dealing with due to McAnulty signing away the TAB for 25 long years. Harness will be stuffed by then as they don’t want harness racing .

I was supposedly an Elite customer but nothing special being one of them . No invites just frustration. Entain aren’t here to make friends and watch what happens when the 2 years is up.
