  1. Maybe have to provide your finger prints as well? They do treat some NZ punters as if they are criminals! How dare they win money off us, do we must stop them from doing this! We need to also check that they are not investing $1k or winning $1k as they are possibly money launderers, so they need to identify themselves or they are breaking the law! NZ has certainly deteriorated over the last few years being controlled by the biggest bunch of losers we could possibly get! Labour’s best for the justice portfolio restricts arrest for breaking the law, you just couldnt make this up lol
  2. You are correct Galah, the current system helps a lot of horses to stay racing in New Zealand rather than be exported to Oz. There are an absolute heap of horses who hovel around the rating 35 to 40 mark indefinitely while racing like Take After Me as one example.
  3. You must still be very verile Mikey!
  4. To be fair “The Race” is overhyped for what it is for harness racing! Does anyone know how much “ Grins” actually contributes . Yes harness racing needs promotion big time and good to see it in action! However as previously stated it is just a transfer of funds from one high flyer to another existing harness participant! We need to be attracting new blood to the industry and one race at Cambridge that is over in well under 3 minutes, I doubt does this! Harness racing oncourse was once very popular with many thousands bon course every Saturday night at Addington with a great atmosphere and food fare wasnt much more than Stevies pies or custard squares! For the industry to thrive we need new people oncourse in bucket loads and wasting $150k of industry money on one race for the elite is not going to achieve this!
  5. I did for a long time Michael! Just thought by unblocking you could give me some more excitement in my life during Winter! You know how much I respect you Michael?
  6. Entain did say they were putting millions into racing for a few years which was the carrot for NZ TAB! Crazy, as they now have 25 year hold on so much of NZ gambling! It is the sports betting they were after!
  7. Hope you are doing well MICHAEL!!! The point that The Galah is making is that the system is not right and needs amending, but then Michael, you are always doing things by the book!
  8. Lol you are correct that it didnt race on the 13th July. The Stipes were advised on the 13th July that the horse had had its hocks injected after the 16th June start! So It is totally weird that if the stewards were told on the 13th July 2023, how on earh is this fact reported on the 16th June2023? Lol. Obviously misrepresented so you wouldnt be seeing the fact that the horse had been treated until well after the 16th June and you in fact would not be seeing it until after the 13th July 2023, when the trainer advised!!!! Just needs improving of the reporting well before a race and not as the horses are sent on their way, otherwise pointless!
  9. Certainly very confused! We were told on 16th July that Press Play had had its hocks injected since it last raced, only very shortly before it raced on Sunday!! However that was incorrect as it raced on the Thursday the 13th July!! Dont recall it being announced that night? Point being is that reporting is not that flash and needs improving!
  10. To be fair Galah, the whip rule is crazy! Ask Colin de Filippi what he thinks of it? Just a rule that needs to be changed as there is no logic to it!
  11. Sorry but i cant understand what on earth is going on here? It is from a Stipes report that is dated 16th June??? Punters should be advised before a race, this is a stuff up? Stipes report is after the race anyway? We were told on Trackside on the 16th July and yet it had also raced on the 13th July? can you explain when exactly the horse had hocks injected?
  12. Had a fair crack at Press Play on the 16th June 2023 and it ran 4th and thought it shouldve run a place in the field it was in! Didnt back it yesterday due to its run on the 16th June a month earlier, although on its best form it had a great show of being in the money! Yesterday just before the race we were advised on Trackside that since its last race it had had its hocks treated!!!!!! Seriously, What is the point of advising the punters just before the race that a horse had had its hocks treated??????? No time for the punters to have a go at all and the truth of the matter is that I wouldve had another go yesterday if we were advised of this prior to one minute before the race!!!!! Absolutely pointless I would say! but then the punters are very poorly informed of important information all of the time! Where is the Racing Integrity here?
  13. The not advertising in NZ by overseas betting agencies just does not work! You watch the Greyhound racing from Oz and you normally see betting agencies like SPORTSBET and TABs always around the boxes and on the track being advertised!
  14. Na. Wouldve been competitive but doubt it wouldve been in the first half cozen. May have run the time but different when you line up against the pacers.
  15. Fair enough seems as though it isnt working that well though? Just watching the lead up to State OF Origin and SPORTSBET ad comes on and isnt cut off till a few seconds after that is shown 😂 Same when Laurie Daley comes on, toooooo late! If the NZ TAB dont want Kiwis punting offshore, then look after them and stop driving them to wager offshore! Let the NZ punters on without ridiculously pathetic limits!
  16. There is often trotters who have won many races in the bush racing against the lower class pacers in Oz! They can be competitive but generally dont seem to be able to beat them very often at all which is understandable.
  17. An informed harness enthusiast advised me that there is a law in NZ that restricts betting agencies advertising in NZ! Not sure where this law is actually written but seriously stupid if they think that punters in NZ can not google and find that there are many other betting agencies that they can bet with overseas, and see their odds online! Does anyone know where this law is actually detailed? Now that Entain is in control maybe they will advertise their overseas betting interests?
  18. Yes it is a trotting forum but we have some knowledgeable people on it! Does anyone know why whenever NRL live league etc. comes on Sky Sport from Oz, they always block the Ozzie Odds presentation? Everyone knows it is with the Ozzie betting agency and not NEW ZEALAND! How is it affecting anything???
  19. Harness Express from Garrick Knight!
  20. Yes he is working with Fred Fletcher. Andrew Drake has resigned from working for Ray Green and is heading south to work I believe at Cran Dalgety’s. According to something I read this week there are quite a few from the Auckland area seriously considering moving to Canterbury as they are over the ineptitude of the ATC! Auckland and North Island harness racing is going down the gurgler!
  21. Yes the system has had its day, and needs an overhaul. When horses that have won in excess of ten races start off the front and horses that have won one race are off 15 metres, there is something seriously wrong with the system in play! Yes we need to retain our horses but surely this needs to be looked at pronto as The Galah states?
  22. The average house value in New Zealand now costs 28x what it was 40 years ago! If stakes had increased at the same rate as an average house price increase over the last 40 years, the stake would now be in excess of $130k 😂
  23. Good stakes back in 1983, 40 years ago! $4,700, so have doubled in the last 40 years!
  24. Sorry was meant to say get paid and not bet laid lol
  25. Yes it was poor decision making by Joanne, and everyone can see that! She also did not do it to lose the race! Reality is that it was an AMATEUR RACE driven by AMATEUR drivers who do not bet laid for their driving! What do you expect to happen in AMATEUR RACES, you are going to get some very amateur driving in everyone of them! If there was no wagering on the races and they were run as non tote races, then she wouldnt be charged and suspended!! The biggest suspensions are being given to our AMATEUR drivers who are doing the driving just for the fun of it! Not their fault that people wager on their drives and therefore they should not be treated the same as the professionals paid drivers!
