    Well you can look at your political mates for this problem. Nathan Clown as Minister who knew nothing about racing appointed a National Party hack, Glenda Hughes who knew nothing about racing as the Racing Board Chair and she apponted a broken down state servant who also knew nothing about racing as the CEO.

    It's thought provocking stuff. Only problem is that Rutherford hardly covered himself with Glory as the CEO of Waikato. He clearly had no idea about how to attract a crowd. The fields for their February meeting were great as was the racing but the on course crowd was sparse. In Fact Waikato's on course turn over for the day was less than Tauherenikau's on course Waitangi day meeting. Also Cambridge Stud pulled their sponsorship as they were unhappy with the very poor crowds Waikato was attracting. Then there were the times when he was off commentating at the cricket when there was a race meeting at Te Rapa.

Yes Pell got off after being found guilty at a trial and also had his appeal to the court of appeal dismissed and finally won a majority decision by Supreme Court Judges. It does not exonerate his church for centuries of abuse of young boys and the Church's network of enabling and cover up.

    The ATC's expertise is in running race meetings, not carrying out property development which they clearly knew little about. "Race" also learned the same lesson.

The Wellington Racing Club need a forensic accountant to go back and see what Fokerd was up to given that he was The Treasurer when they went broke and he has now been struck off for fraud. Will it happen? No, because the WRC Committee will say that he was a good fellow.

    Former Treasurer of The Wellington Racing Club, John Fokerd has been struck off by The Accountants' Society. He was previously suspended. He admitted stealing $650k and has repaid this but to date has not been charged with Fraud.
