Shad Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Certainly a time for reflections, we all have our gripes and moans, but we must celebrate the day and be thankful to make another xmas, there are many who suffer tragedy at this time of the year, spare a thought for them, to all the dedicated owners and trainers, who work tirelessly to supply the talent for our enjoyment , many thanks and good luck for the holiday racing., also to all the punters out there, and those responsible for the new site, merry xmas everyone and keep safe. 4 3 Quote
barryb Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Yes bang on Shad, last night I was out singing Xmas carols with my 15yr old to people at Hospice who won't see another one. Its the one time of the year that I put aside my beliefs that religion is a crock and go along to help others through a tough time. My wife and daughter give up most Saturdays to work voluntarily for Hospice, people who do that sort of thing are the true warriors in life. 6 4 Quote

Wonderful mate, I am looking to volunteer at a local hospice sometime soon. Been on my mind for a while now. Won't be doing any singing though, they have enough to contend with. 6 1 Quote

Its an incredibly humbling experience seeing people at there most vulnerable enjoying you making a friggin hash of something. I had plenty of tears myself last night walking through the ward, thinking how tragic it is. 2 2 Quote

As hard as it is, it is such generosity that makes their last journey a special time. My heart goes out to those who die alone. You and your family are good people. 3 2 Quote

curious Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Indeed. Just carved the ham and poured a bevie. Lots of thoughts and talk of those no longer with us who we spent many Christmases with. All the best to everyone here, especially racing's front line grinders who are travelling or away from home to bring us tomorrow's racing and also especially Thomass. It's been fun sparring with you through the year. Pretty sure I'm well ahead. Cheers. 5 Quote

Firstly Xmas wishes to one and all, and productive punting, but geeez Barry, with all due respect, don't antagonise things. If he trolls your posts, then I suppose it is inevitable that people will lash back out at him....but otherwise Edited December 25, 2018 by hesi Quote
barryb Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 it doesn't take much to poke the bear Hesi, he's very simplistic & in case you didn't notice he hates you currently. 1 Quote
