They supposedly have a bookmaker from Betcha doing the fixed odds pre race "where the money is going" bit on trackside.

Is this the money that is going on the Betcha fixed odds or Entain?

Are the fixed odds now now controlled from Betcha like they are making it out to be on trackside?

Not sure, but arent they basically one snd the same?

Certainly are just as restrictive with certain punters they dont want!

They want you to punt with them, until they dont!

They are very poor losers,  and dont take the bad with the good😢

Betcha seems to be targeting the younger ones with their advertising.

Will be separate books, but the odds are clearly set by the same Bookies as the fixed odds are the same!

Maybe the young ones bet with Betcha for sports betting?

Betcha is probably promoted as being sexier than the old TAB name?

Both TAB and Betcha fixed odds are the same prices, so one must be doing it for the other.

Entain stated they would not lay off any TAB staff for 2 yrs…. that date must be getting close so must be a few that go.

I contacted Betcha last year to enquire about something, I am sure the guy said he worked at Ladbrooks, but not 100% sure. Makes sense, cut TAB staff in NZ, get Aussie staff to pick up slack. Have had Betcha call me a few times recently, offering tickets for events, never had offers from TAB ever in 40 yrs punting….

Not sure how many NZ staff are still employed.?

I do know that there were many staff that were sent packing not long after Entain took over!

Petone NZ head office would probably be pretty empty.

Most of the work would be getting done by Australians out if Ozzie by now, you would think.

The Ozzies have taken over from the CEO of HRNZ, Trackside track interviewer, Dean Shannon as well as other Entain suits!

Probably no worse decision makers than  what we had over the past decade though?

The TAB was sold out by McAnulty to Entain which personally believe was a poor decision medium term.

As long as the Aussie guys keep doing the pricing. The gap between opening and closing odds is night and day. It is almost like the computer is doing it based on form or something.

I have never seen it so good for the punters.

They have become very restrictive on how much you are allowed to win though!

They continue to give this bonus cash away and boosted odds as if they are this generous betting agency?

Yet on the other hand they are not prepared to allow punters on for what I consider reasonable amounts!

They really havent got an appetite to take the punters on.

Boost the turnover with your own money and report the turnover is up. Everyone is overjoyed at the news. Genius plan but will it last!

Do they have to pay tax on the bonus money people spend or is that a loophole they can get around?

Yes they just take away the options like top four, and other fixed bet types when you log into your account. It is like they don't exist. Can still bet on tote but not most fixed options.

Correct Top 4 and Head To Head’s taken off certain punters!

Restrictions to such low levels that hardly worth the effort!

They think they are clever but then again they need punters more than I need to punt!!

They offer these boosted odds and cash back bets and yet they have a maximum bet of amounts such as $20??????

You would think we were in the 1980’s?? $20 You What?????

They have tried to get rid of the small punter for years (eg removing phone betting for the older punters with no tech knowledge, radio, free to air tv etc) and now they are wanting the small punters back.

They have finally gone full circle.

Unfortunately for the TAB and racing they are continue to make poor decisions.

They have failed to adapt to the changing decades and now are trying to entice younger generations into punting.

Reality is they have missed the boat and is going to be extremely difficult to attract new punters and yet the existing punters they have had for decades, they victimise!

There are some things that I believe have been beneficial since Entain  took over, but there are many that you have to scratch your head and wonder why?

Restrictions to punters doesn't just restrict turnover now, it restricts turnover indefinitely by the flow on affect that it has to everything!

Anyway be interesting to see what the years betting figures show bearing in mind it is inflated due to the TAB giving away money with one hand with bonus bets and yet losing turnover with not allowing other punters on for reasonable amounts.

Makes total sense, NOT!

Mmm I can't think of many.

As a punter we have lost the pick six, all up bets, dwindling tote pools, more restrictions, website still playing up, slower results, no place divs on trackside plus more.

What have we gained apart from same race multis, top four and money back odds, which is not really a positive if you are not allowed to bet on them.

Early fixed odds coming out.

Tab/Entain have now become very very restricting with certain punters!

You couldnt really call them Bookies more like accountants!

They are massively restricting the turnover on harness racing which is going to kill the harness industry.

Overall they are courageous and responsible. Somewhat like the little Dutch boy.

Only dangerous turnover driven away.

They shouldnt be in the business then Ranga, if they arent prepared to to pay out to punters that can beat the odds!

Should be advertising “only losing punters need apply”

The racing industry needs them to be in business and profitable to the extreme.

It is a given that they want losing punters and advertising might make certain losers feel discouraged before they begin.

Extra generous in Hei Hei

Likely to be the most bonus gifted suburb in Aotearoa

Never heard of a restricted punter in Vanguard Drive or Manurere Street.

Ben from Betcha on TV today.

"We may have missed the driver change on Betterthandiva when pricing this market."

FFS no wonder they are so easy to beat if they can not even notice a driver change on a runner. And yes the $31 was delicious. Keep them coming.

i thought it was pretty hard to have, even with the driver change.

It had finished a beaten off last, just stopping, being 40 lengths,6 lengths and 40 lengths behind the second last horses in its last 3 starts.

i think opening it at $30 most probably had priced the driver change in.

well done if you backed it,your a punting genius today.
