mikeynz Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Well the tote did get over 5 in the end, Manawatu isn't the drain , stakes are more modest, turnover not that much different. As for the fillies v males race, group races should really be all in, just like Karaka like handing out titles when many ain't eligible. If some if these fillies can't match the colts then they are just average. Bonnie's Chance, Blossom lady, Delightful lady could do it, but they were exceptional. It's a bit like those that waffled on about how good Serina Williams was at tennis but she used to overpower real women by clubbing the shit out of the ball, wanted equal pay but was never up against Novak, Roger or Rafael, which would have put things in perspective. 1 Quote

A champion young NZ bloke and near the best horseman in the whole country (who I hope can WIN Interdominion soon as well) and no chance of getting buried on the paint , pushed 6 wide and all that sort of shit. You guys are just POOR at recognizing a GOOD betting race. That Fillies race was one of them. Go The Gambit !🏆💰 and watch out for young Carter in the Sapling Stakes as well. Only 8 in it and 2 of them are his. Bring em' home Carter Gamma, it is not about the racing. It is about what they are doing to racing at the moment. They have not gone with the times, and now think that chucking money that Entain has chucked in to get 50% of the profits for 25 years, into stakes is the answer! What at the end of the 5 years? Winnie can see this and that is why he has called on this new committee being formed to try and sort! This should've happened when Entain came aboard surely? Edited June 1 by Brodie Quote

mikeynz Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago $30000 3yo race at Addington, 5 noms, just had a same stake race last week at Ashburton. All other races around 15 to 18, the continued obsession with 2 and 3yo racing is mystifying. Quote

Thats $67 extra to every owner and $33 to every breeder of a starter on friday. and at auckland they could haveused the $12000 to pay an extra $110 to every owner and $55 to every breeder of a starter at auckland, instead of paying just 1 lot of connections. those 2 year old races already have good stakes, but hrnz continue to prioritise the people who race and breed 2 year olds,as they obviously view them of far,far greater importance than any other group. According to HRNZ everything is going well so there us no point in being concerned with it. Everything is well under control and HRNZ believe that everything is heading in the right direction for the betterment of the harness industry, they told us this on Friday Night Lights! Quote
