Chief Stipe Posted yesterday at 08:41 AM Author Posted yesterday at 08:41 AM Really @Comic Dog are you that desperate for clicks? I'm not!! Just more crap from New Zealand's Anti-racing Forum. Quote
hesi Posted yesterday at 09:28 AM Posted yesterday at 09:28 AM Just remember Chief, form is temporary class and I would add intellect is permanent. If you don't have class and intellect, you can never acquire it as much as you may think you can Quote

Maybe his desperate sycophants could quietly point that out. Quote

For a good number of years, the Guineas hopefuls and a few others were based at Rangiora early in the season but not in any great numbers. As far as all this goes, there is no 'award' given for leading sth island stable, someone will correct me if that isn't the case, so any distinction is purely academic. 1 Quote
Chief Stipe Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Yeah well I understand @Pitman is stirring this up with personal messages behind the scenes. I have no idea why it matters so much to him. I wouldn't be surprised if Pitty is actually writing the posts for the @Comic Dog . It's been done before and is obvious when s post is longer than the average single sentence. Pittys Puppet. 1 Quote
Chief Stipe Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago As for the myth that Te Akau only send their crap horses down to the South Island i would have thought @nomates would have more brains than that or at least done his homework. The Te Akau strike rate in the South Island is slightly better than the North Island. Why wouldn't you try and maximise the return to owners? Another advantage is you aren't competing against your own stable as much and as far as I know the stakes are much the same. Next they'll be moaning about North Island owners robbing South Island owners of their stakes! Which is another nonsense as many many South Islanders have shares in horses trained primarily in the North Island. There is absolutely nothing to stop a South Island stable setting up a North Island based one. The other contradiction from the moaners is that Te Akau having a permanent stable in the South Island has created more competition supposedly with dud horses. Go figure!! At the end of the day Racing is a Sport and is about winning. The South Island could gain from the likes of Marsh and O'Sullivan setting up down there. It would lift the quality of the racing. Quote
hesi Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago In terms of the geographical thing, while the 3 Hawkes Bay days being in the north this year, has so far led to some very good fields, there are only 4 CD acceptors on Sat at Ellerslie. While this is understandable due to transport costs, it does show the need to get Hawkes Bay and Awapuni back up and running, despite what the conspiracy mob say about centralisation of racing in Auck/Waikato, so racing can grow in those regions. 2 Quote

Yes there is. Pitty won it for 25 years until Carson did. https://nztr.co.nz/news/christchurch-casino-south-island-racing-awards-winners-announced Quote

I dont think it figures in the National awards. And, in the interests of accuracy, Pitty has won the National Premiership three times. Quote

Chief Stipe Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago Looking at the current Premiership - geez does Stephen Gray's dirt track experience show how it should be done on the Awapuni Synthetic. A strike rate of 2.5!! 1 Quote

Correct. From the annual report. 2011 Congratulations to Canterbury trainer Michael Pitman on a dominating win in the New Zealand trainers’ premiership, holding off Matamata trainer John Sargent and Awapuni trainer Lisa Latta. 2013 according to NZTR. TA have a $440k $A Snitzel filly lining up in a 18.5k mdn at Phar Lap Raceway on Sunday, only someone as Tangerine delusional as you @Chief Stipe would call it a level playing field. Does the filly need to prove herself in the SI before she can go to Aus? Quote

They call them duds but they're good enough to win a third of Te Akau's stakes against the best the South Island has to offer. Quote

hesi Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Who is this Nomates character, always seems very negative about racing in NZ, yet always seems to have an answer for everything. Sounds like you must have upset him about something lol Quote

Wallows in the glory when winning but most of the time is negative about everything. Quote
