Flag, kardesler my best bet of night. Nathan Purdon has driven horse in past, so no worries there. Bombed last 2 stands, so mobile suits, 2nd row draw no hurdle over 2600m, as in most juior drivers races, can see strong pace, will fly home late to win. Senorita margariti for saver bet. Only other 2 i like tonight, noosa beach & elle mac. Good luck

globederby12
Race 2 No 6 Riteur from the Williamson barn.Has the Sundon pig in it but plenty of ability . Race 4. First start No4 Mongolian Marshall. Good place money here, and stable should have him firing. Race 6 No 2 Nurburgring. Been in the money 10 times from 26 starts and just maybe having that off year as a 4yr old. Could easily get some of this.
Steve Paul
R2 - # 12 Tonique De Feu - massive last run, if it trots all the way it wins by a margin!

Joe Kidd
Race 2 looks wide open. Numerous chances that could win without surprising. I'm not tipping one out but if you backed Riteur last week, you will be lining up to go again. Never got a crack at them last week. Not a big fan of backing unlucky runners as they often seem to find bad luck in their races as invariably they need to be driven with a sit to salute. I prefer to back horses that can make their own luck. Having said that, Riteur did get my attention last week. Check her out here in the Williamson colours. https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=260241 J B Mauney does look very likely in the first as it took a good one to beat him last week. Having said that, the horse I tipped out first up, Takemybreathaway couldn't have been more impressive from her bad draw at Timaru. I wouldn't be shocked to see her make it 2 from 2. Looks an ideal race to load up on one and save on the other. Throw in Mini Mine Yet for third and you have a deadset trifecta to start the night.

Jerry Garcia was as good as any and place money wasn’t too bad either! Not sure why it is still unruly, as galloped few starts ago when tight space on the rails. Came off unruly and then Went back! Gait has improved a ton to what it was, and he is an iron horse!
globederby12
What does one make of Riteurs run. Williamson looked like he didn't give a shit after getting carted back.
Brodie
Riteur, not that impressive so far in career, as most of its form has been Forbury and South and don’t give much credence to that. Bookies had it as massive unders this week from fair run last week,

Williamson looked like he didn't give a shit after getting carted back. Very disappointing performance given the circumstances. Was driven for luck which tells a story. The drivers efforts in the last half were equivalent to a yawn and a stretch. I believe Brodie is likely correct in his assessment of the horse. Best kept for lesser races in the deep South. Even then based on last nights run, it would need luck to salute. Having said that, they only normally float horses that distance if those involved rate it. Will be watching future runs for a change of tactics / distance etc. I see in the stewards report MW stated the horse is better suited to shorter distances. WTF? Surely he could have worked that out well before now before costing punters a small fortune? How many times do you need to piss on a toilet seat before you lift it up? The winner won like she's a very good mare. Perhaps flattered by the way the race was run and set up for a run like hers. That further highlighted how limp noodle Riteurs run was. Feel a little sorry for the driver of Tonique De Feu. Was driven like it's a decent enough horse which it is. Made to work even harder by a 50-1 shot being given a stern workout when under normal circumstances would have made the lead much easier. Drive looked very ambitious but on closer inspection that assessment may be a tad harsh. Losing third very late did not help the look. For me, the highlight was Great Things Happen. Was very impressive and looks almost unbeatable in upcoming weeks. Must be said the rest of the field were not up to much so perspective is important. All they can do is win and that win was dominant. Disappointing to see Scarlett Banner bled last night and was retired. I thought Nelson was her swansong but they pressed on which seems over the top for an apparent in foal mare. Also interesting to see Majestic One being driven positively at Otaki. Never looked like getting beaten. In complete contrast to the farcical run recently at Te Awamutu when the junior driver fell asleep at the back while the leader did an impersonation of a turtle for 1400 metres.

But this site doesn't need to be sullied by bad behaviour. Couldn t have a better family of trainers in charge of our horses . Top notch. 1

You are right Mr Williamson is still winning races, I do not dispute that. What I should have said was that he does not have any top liners these days. As you mentioned Brodie (why does he popup in every thread?), I think he was right, and I don't often say that, to state the wins at Forbury don't mean much. Williamson has not had a top horse for a long time. His last good horse was Springfield Richard, didn't he win the Dominion as a 3-year-old? One Over Kenny and Jasmyn's Gift were good too. Both Springfield Richard and One Over Kenny raced against some of the best trotters ever, including Icandoosit and Stig, and were competitive. Nothing in his stable today, including the two battlers he took to the Interdoms, are anywhere near this class. All trainers have lean spots and perhaps Williamson will have another top liner one day, but as it has been a long time between drinks I doubt it. Sprinting is his forte, let's hope he gives away the two mile slogs and concentrates on what he is good at. Speed. He was hopeless in the Dominion beaten a long way from home. We do have Dark Horse who could and may be anything as long as the injurys heal properly. This horse would have in our stables opinion been burning up the track by now, but for the injury. An exceptional talent. And Majestic Man is making progress towards the top. Keep watching because we have some exciting youngsters yet to hit the track. The older brigade is about to make way for the nxt wave of Williamson horses.
