You may be right.

Loved the battles of the 2 above horses, with Pure Steel. Trying to listen on the radio, mainly inter dom time.

Could say Aussie clearly had the edge on nz around this time for pacers, maybe 50/50 trotters.

The last few years, nz seemed to have the edge, good to see.

Maoris idol I don’t remember, probably about 1980 I started following the game.

Its crazy to say, but I kind of thought it was exciting listening to those aus races on the radio at some crazy hour. Usually a little late, so just had to listen to Barney, first time caller from wairarapa on radio pacific just that little longer. Remember the times listening to a race on a sat arvo, only for the news to interrupt commentary ??

Ok, somebody help. Below is a picture of Gammalite, now I see it’s at Addington, but I do not think it ever won race there. Could it be cup trial?

Best he did at Addington was a second to lord module in the Alan Matson FFA in 81, raced in the nz cup 81 and 84.

Like most Ozzie horses thoroughbred and standardbred he had a long mane.

Paleface Adios great looking horse, with as you say, long mane.

Yep the Ozzy trainers don't cut them.  There was a thoroughbred stallion who raced here who had a long mane.

It appears to be a time trial as you say no numbers but the horse on the outside is a galloping pacemaker.

Maybe he did time trial at some stage, but as you say, is a pacemaker outside which I didn’t really look at first.
