That appears to be Nov/Dec 2025. Where does it reference KM day?

This Entain Edition comes to you hot off the back of the TAB Karaka Millions meeting at Ellerslie on Saturday, and what a meeting it proved to be.

There was the perfect blend of outcomes – ranging from Australian-trained horses Dream Roca and Jigsaw winning to ensure the meeting stays on the radar of our Australian cousins, Well Written’s stunning six-length $1.5m TAB Karaka Millions 3YO victory, or the brilliant surface prepared by Jason Fulford and his team despite more than 150 millimetres of rain in the week prior.

All those elements combined to contribute to a 5% increase in turnover through TAB and betcha on Saturday, compared to the 2025 TAB Karaka Millions. Notably, there were 35% more Australians betting on the meeting through Entain’s two Australian brands, as opposed to the 2025 meeting.

Well I give the new track one positive.   The old track would have been a deep bog.  But please fix that home bend!!

Seriously needs to happen to make it world class and attractive to punters.

Isn't this a case of "no s**t sherlock" ?

Every race (KM night) was a world pool race , was that the case last year, i think only 3 or 4 were?

Still doesn't answer my question.

Sorry, doesn't that refer directly to KM day?

The other numbers are overall racing turnover for Nov/Dec. They are two separate things. I'm not sure what you mean or want.

Yes the flash spin poster from Entain refers to Nov/Dec. So where does Karaka Millions day turnover up 5% on last year come in to it. Why bother posting the image if you wanted to fawn over KM day?

Both are excerpts directly from this month's Entain report that I thought were interesting. I'm not clear what your point is.

I'm certainly not fawning over KM day. The opposite. A 5% turnover increase year on year from NZ punters is surely NOT a good result with Geoblocking now well in place.

Totally agree with your last point. I think I hear the full time whistle blow. Think we will have a beer now aye Curious.

(from the cheap seats) smoke and mirrors coming into a clash with reality!  I know what wins out in the long run...

The figures in the graphic represent a YOY increase of 4.7% by NZ punters on domestic racing. So same.

Thanks

It is very limited data though

Total turnover was 663.1 million.  Is that good or bad.  What is the net betting revenue

Posted

Probably good but not of much benefit to NZ racing if it wasn't bet through our TAB. Don't know revenue but you'd expect any increase would be less than the turnover increase based on the trend from tote to FOB.

With customers from at least 25 participating countries and regions around the world wagering into a single pool, World Pool hosted betting on all six races at Saturday’s meeting, ensuring a 71% uplift in turnover on the meeting. The TAB Karaka Millions 2YO was the stand-out performer, with an 11% increase on last year’s edition.

Where did you get the 663.1 million figure?
