Newmarket
Beyond The Fort, came from well back, didnt look to handle ground, but still won, thats 2 from 2. Good future ahead. Vin De Dance, 3 wide mostly, good hard fought win. Rider didnt panic either. Nothing really exciting on the nz scene to be honest. BUT, CAULFIELD!! Global Exchange, a massive run to win. Fantastic, real wide around turn, but stormed home. Terbium, 3 from 3 after being 3 wide and booting clear turning for home. That aussie racing huge

Weasel
No mention of Melody Belle ...nothing exciting on the NZ scene? She keeps winning our Group 1s, and maybe that's an indictment on the quality/depth of the opposition but it'd be good to see how she fares in Oz again...are they taking her over? Yes, she won well done. But the field was so poor, and given every chance to win. Some races that were won at Caulfield yesterday was amazing, that is the difference. Even Leos horse won, so just shows what a pack of hacks were racing in that field, even silly old Leo wouldnt take that slug to aus, be gasping half way thru race. Only hype in nz racing last year was a grey jumper that has about 1000 owners? Let us know when a bonecrusher, grey way or mcginty type starts to race in nz. I understand what Newmarket is on about here - the lack of a truly great champion or excitement machine on NZ turf ...in the Sprin it was going to be Savvy Coup and she didn't cut the mustard in Oz either. One thing I'm noticing more of here is the number of 2yo/3yo racing and winning good races here here that are by Aus speed stallions -Fastnet Rock, Sebring, Commands, Snitzel etc - easy pickings perhaps ? You'd have to ask the experts on that. Maybe in the next two weeks at Ellerslie something will emerge that can challenge the superior Ozzie performers. (The Autumn Sun looks the goods, doesn't he?)

Funny I thought I saw a grey hack win in Sydney at $80's yesterday. That Melbourne racing is so boring mate, $3 favs win constantly, bores me bloody silly. Much more enjoyable being a Wairoa today. Good on you for your loyalty to nz racing thou, but not many agree with you any more.
Sandpiper
Aus racing obv superior but there a site where all aus race replays can be watched easily like on nzracing? Ive tried before but found it disjointed / paywalled. Thats a big part of the overall package for me. Re best runs .. I thought Rondinella really stepped up well yesterday gave VDD a few lengths start then made a long run covering much ground. In the last at Matamata Voler Pour Moir slipped on the turn then really turned on the turbo. Probably didnt beat much tho.
SLB2.0
Everything about Aus racing is better. Horses, races, presenters, commentators, tracks, bookmakers, trainers, jockeys, excitement, atmosphere, people on track. NZ is like a stale picnic... but! we are a vastly smaller nation with a smaller economy and to think we could compete at the same level would be unjust.

Surpirsing that a Labour voter like you would want to sit watching rich liberal voting Aussies cheer on seriously expensive drugged up horses is a bit of a shock. Only 2 favs won yesterday at caulfield? Maybe you didnt bother to watch the superb racing on offer. If nz tab didnt have sports betting and aus racing, would be far worse off than what they are now. As i have stated, not a labour supporter, just far more open. I find politics hilarious, people are so one sided, yet cant really tell me what National did so special for 9 years. Labour supporters would struggle to do same

Aus racing is bigger than NZ but it is not better. Half the runners are not triers, not a week goes by without there being a drugs charge .

aquaman
I gave up on NZ racing 10 years ago, now only have the odd bet on them. Unlike Barry I find NZ racing boring, and totally unreliable. The quality of Jockeys is 3rd world, and the horseflesh not much better. In this day and age, I ask myself, why would anybody bet on NZ TB racing. The tracks are woeful, and administration not far behind. I avoid all betting mediums that are not co mingled, eg, trifecta's, trebles, pick 6's. I prefer Victorian racing, although do bet sometimes on NSW racing especially around carnival times. The presentation is light years ahead of anything here in NZ at all levels. Thats my view on it. 2

Queensland, NSW and Victoria have their own sites, which seems to be the only way to watch replays for free.
