Thomass
Some ficken idiot...read the Idiot Commitee Decided to include ALL Stakemoney paid back to last...in the Million Karaka 3yo Not only that...but in a restricted race...which other countries have long since discounted for Qualifying And then they go and convert Aussie Dollars into NZ as well...so that these very average Aussies...on R65 Rating...are ahead of the likes of an R 73 Beggars belief how stupid some ELLERSLIE suits are...probably sloshed when they came up with this errant nonsense
Kopia
I think it was Chris Waller who came out fighting in Aussie recently when some trainers suggested that stakes earnt in restricted ( Inglis ) sales races should be included in Golden slipper stakes...did you see that Tommo? Very similar to what you say here...however the difference here is the septic conflicts between NZBloodstock/Auckland Racing Club directors.. Thomass
You're quite possibly right on that point... The HQ suits like bending over as far as poss when it comes to mixing with the landed gentry.... The Vella Fella has a special landing place for his chopper...and a gold plated golf cart provided so he doesn't get horse poo on his galoshes if he had to f in walk So if Vella said he wants ALL Stake money included...back to last..in his restricted race... Baker and CEO Pauly....would also ask if they could lick his galoshes dry while they're at it... Waller's bang on though...possibly the winner of such a race COULD be exempted... ...but to include ALL Stake money earnt in a Restricted race is simply bizarre
Thomass
So the 5 Point superior rated SWORD IN STONE ...misses out to the Te Arkow Prise de Fir...who picked up 17k when running 6th in a restricted Millionaire race #whatajoke
Thomass
Oh, and 8 points superior to the 3 three Arstralian pretenders...who race for superior prize money every day of the week #whatafarce
Kihikihi Kid
Prise De Fer is a huge chance
Thomass
Maybe, but that's not the point... SWORDS DRAWN gets in ahead of MASSETO courtesy of the 9k he got for running 14th in the Million... Apparently 14th in a Restricted is a key determinant for HQ Onya ELLERSLIE...you've cocked up big time..
Thomass
And you'll note the fawning Racing Media..apart from Lichter...who fair dinkum took Craig Baker apart...limb by limb ...haven't mentioned a thing about the ANOMALY! Flash boy Guerin's too f in scared to for a start In case glamour boy Pauly I'm too flash to take my sunnies off on TV Wilcox... kicks Guerin out of the Presidentes room...and bans him from doing patsy post race interviews Talk about gutless
Kihikihi Kid
Maybe , just maybe , the onus is on the trainers to qualify their runner for the Derby , maybe Sword In Stones connections rolled the dice and went in with just the 4 runs and have only just come up short of making the field. Maybe it is a run too soon for him but overall I think most years the Derby field sorts itself out ,connections opted not to run in Avondale Guineas which theoretically would have returned a cheque and therefore made the field. Don't think it's time to push the panic button , you think you can win the Derby , make sure you qualify !
Freda
Nope, don't agree, any sort of restricted race shouldn't count.
Fred
Correct Freda A Pearl bonus does not count yet it is a similar sweepstake to the Karaka millions.

Guest CrossCodes
Platinum Invader very unlucky not to win with the ride that Johnson gave him, such a negative rider in such a big race and he should have won with an ounce of clear running. Thomass
So the connections of SIS are still having trouble getting over it... The Ellerslie 'Committee' should call a special meeting and change the conditions while it's still fresh in their crazy cotton pickin minds Regardless of what happens over the next few weeks, Brennan is still coming to terms with the disappointment of Sword In Stone missing a start in the Gr.1 New Zealand Derby (2400m) despite being stakes-placed in his final lead-up run. “I was gutted he didn’t get into the race and I’m still feeling it now,” she said. “He was cherry ripe for the race and had drawn perfectly in barrier one. He would probably have enjoyed a lovely, economical run on the fence and I think he would have proved very competitive. “To be Group Two placed and still only second on the ballot doesn’t seem right as I definitely think he should have made the field. “We can’t change it now though, so we have to look forward with him.”

mumbles
If this horse doesn't perform in the future then a large hat and some camouflage may need to be worn. As Chief Stipe says''Aussie''
Thomass
Dunno why that'd be?? Were talking about a neddy receiving 9k for running 14th in Restricted race...getting in the Derby field over a G2 Placed neddy... whats the price of fush got to do with it? Chief Stipe
The rules were clear well before for everyone to work out. They were going to battle to get in the field with only 3 races each a month apart leading into the Derby. It's Grp 3 placing wasn't all that great a run either. The form from the Guineas didn't carry into the Derby that well.

True but based on its performance in the Guineas I'm guessing you like the rest of the population didn't rate its performance hence $105 dividend. Good points....and CP drew the dreaded ace..Ace... Got shuffled back to near last then battled away well... ...needing the Blinkers back on...not a lot of people hold that in any great stead for some reason... ...perhaps they've listened to Neville no names on here "prove it makes them go faster...Redzel doesn't need them"

And then connections of SIS get confused when the plonker 'Suits' like Craig Baker allow 14th money in a Restricted to count? Explain that champ....
