the galah Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Now I don't mind losing $ if I back a horse that's driver is trying. But I have an intense dislike if i'm on one that doesn't. Race 2 at manawatu today. Twofiftyeight, driven by zac butcher. Sits in the 1 by 1 sit, then gets boxed in at the 400m when zac butchers brother moves up. . I've seen it once too often for me at this course.,most of the time the same driver.. Palmerston north betting pools are small enough as it is. I don't need the aggravation of betting on races where only some are trying. That's it for me,no more manawatu. Edited May 21, 2019 by the galah 1 1 Quote
Pasketti Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Also hard for the drivers who don’t team drive 3 Quote
Taku Umanga Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 TWO FIFTYEIGHT - held up rounding the final turn and throughout the run home. Driver Z Butcher advised that he was unable to activate the removable deafeners as a result. Stewards questioned Mr Butcher as to why he had elected not to improve earlier than the 550 metres after which point he became covered up. He advised that his driving instructions were to save the gelding for one run as it had not coped with working in its previous starts and that he felt shifting at this point would not have been to the gelding's advantage. His explanation was noted. Quote
Jonny Longshot Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 The horse went 3 wide solo from last at the 800 on Day 1 at Hawera and was beaten a very short margin. Suddenly it can't sprint 500 metres from the 1x1? 1 Quote

Shad Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 I see another poor part time driver got a 2 day suspension, and a 300$ dollar fine, for over use of the 3 whip, bloody tough on the battlers, especially after trekking all the way up there. Wouldn't that put you off. 1 Quote
