Newmarket
How impressive was this winner today. Cruising the whole way, and showed real speed after getting off rails to sprint away to win well. I will put my head on the line, this horse will go far. Lets see if it stays in nz, or will somebody offer up some big offers for it. Come on Glenn Gillard, keep the horse in your stable, decline the offers, otherwise you will regret it.
Happy Sunrise
A 3-year-old filly to boot. Super impressive. You don't see something tucked up on the rails with about 500 to run and then win by 8. U May Collectish.
Dougie
Yes wow indeed, don't know Glenn but has always had a horse or 2 over the 20 odd years I've followed harness racing but after that debut it's going to de extremely hard to turn down 6 figure offers.

Began safe but slowly, settled back on inner. It was bolting the whole way, keen as
Harewood
The Gillards, being Glen and Ian who I presume is his father, have bred and trained horses for many years. They have had dozens of horses mostly with the Vale as a suffex or Canasta as a prefix. Mostly they were honest battlers and I cannot remember one being as exciting as SkyVale. Good on them for being rewarded for what looks like a very good horse and I hope they hold on to it and get some great rewards for the years of hard work. I remember backing Canasta Star? at Adds some 30 yrs ago driven by J Curtin' Looped the field at the 800 and won by at least 6 lengths paying around 25s Great to see some of the smaller stables getting potentially good horses they have bred themselves

Yes there was a Canasta King and after doing a bit of research I think that was the one I was referring to. Well remembered Happy It had 39 starts for 3 wins and 6 placings and won at Adds on 21 october 1987 with JC on board as a 3yr old. Unfortunately no vid or divs

Unfortunately no vid or divs that was on rising stars final night, he had finished a distant 4th in his heat which was by far the fastest heat. The first 3 in his heat were the first 3 home in the final. The other heat winner was tuapeka knight and he missed the final also.

Was the rest of the story correct and maybe 6 lengths clear at the top of the straight or have I got the wrong Canasta..
Newmarket
Can see this horse winning a few more in a row. I reckon it will win 5 straight, will sell for big money, then will be great horse in aus.
Dougie
What sort of sale price would she go for ?.... you'd think at least 200K.

What impresses me is the sheer speed this horse has. I know it had the trail, but just went whoosh 200m out, won easily. Somehow i can not see it staying in nz, although who knows, might end up at purdons.

To be fair she has not beaten anything that has been much good, and hasn’t had to to anything in both of her starts! Wouldnt think she would be worth anything like $200k at this stage as no big stakes races available for her!

So expect horse to be sold soon for $200k plus.

All you can do is win, but she is a rising 4 year old Auckland Reactor mare, and no big races around the corner for her here. Yesterday she did very little work, sat in the trail and won over 2000m in a winning mile rate outside of 2.0 minutes, and you think she is worth over 200k? She has not beaten anything of any ability in either of her starts and have had easy runs both starts! We are both entitled to our own opinions and that is the beauty of it Newmarket! Time will tell whether she is worth the 200k plus that you think she is. I believe that Brodie will be on the money though!

So, posters are not allowed opinions Globe? Are you saying that You also believe that Sky Vale is worth more than $200k? The beauty of a forum is that it is an opening for people to express their views Globe, and the floor is yours to state your opinion as to whether you believe Sky Vale is worth in excess of $200k. The fact that I may be very opinionated gives you the chance to say that you don’t agree with me, but if you want to take your bat and ball home, is your loss!
hunterthepunter
if that horse is worth 200k would have to beat better horses than that and on breeding your not going to get 200k for an Auckland reactor
