What’s your evidence to back that claim up?

You also claim they will just restrict people in outlet if they have to show id when making a large collect, I would have though if you got the bet on then it’s to late to restrict someone.

wheres your evidence? you obviously cant pick your nose so they are not worried about your account!

Because you are using a punters card, they will know anyone who is putting on over

$1000, and so they will be able to monitor everyone at agencies or oncourse and if that punter is winning, they will be restricting them, just like the already restricted punters.

I can tell you that it is not much fun being treated like a damn crim  trying to get a bet on!

If you think it is to do with money laundering solely, you are seriously deluded!

Why should someone that puts $100 on a horse to win Fixed at $10 have to present a

stupid punters card to collect your winnings of $1000???????

The statement says that it is not that they think we are money launderers, then why the hell are they introducing this pathetic card???

They are doing it supposedly to protect us!

Prey tell us what this protection we all need is???

This is just another evasion into what we are able to do without government intervention!!!

They are going to lose punters in massive no.s.

alot of online casinos have been established to legitimize bitcoin transactions, no sane person would bother with the nz TAB, just another rule brought in to distract from the trainwreck thats been brought about by this monopoly!

With respect your response doesn’t really make sense.

I never made any claim to back up with evidence, Brodie did.

I also never mentioned anything about tab accounts or restrictions on them. Perhaps you should make you comments before the evenings Gins have set in.

Thanks for the above response Brodie but you haven’t backed up your claim that it’s nothing to do with money laundering, just wondering what your basis for saying that is?

Tonkatime, are you aware of how little many punters are now allowed to net on their accounts?

Now they are going to be able to monitor a helluva lot more punters by way of amounts they are putting on and winning!

If you bet Fixed Odds and you win a few times they will restrict your amount you can get on, because they have your details coming thru to them of the stupid punters card!!!!

It just gives the TAB total control over who can bet, the amount wagered and how much you can win or not win!

If you think that is a fair go then clearly you are delusional.

The TAB wants to increase the turnover on racing, they have to be kidding?

As I say someone puts on $100 to win at $10 so collect $1000 and they have to show their stupid card to be able to collect their winnings.

Someone betting $100 is hardly a money launderer!

It is about control for the TAB not money laundering as the statement clearly says that they don’t think we are money laundering!!!!!

The TAB are doing it to PROTECT US!!!!!

Tonkatime, please tell us all what we as punters need protection from????

I can tell you now that the NZ TAB are a law unto themselves and give certain punters total unfair treatment which I won’t go into on here!

The NZ TAB have a totally flawed business system and it continues to bleed.

I have said it before, but I am fortunate that I don’t need  to do it for the money, it is about the challenge!

The truth of the matter is that if this punters card comes in so that Big Brother knows everything about many punters, I am just going to give it away, and leave racing to go further into the doldrums!

Wont worry the TAB but it will when all the other punters get restricted by being controlled by the NZ TAB!

Your incorrect about needing a punters card Brodie. I have it one good authority all you need to do to verify your id when collecting over $1000 is enter your tab account details or show proof of ID and proof of address.

If you don’t have either of them why not cash the ticket at a self service machine and split it in to amounts under $1000.

Tonkatime, you clearly work for the TAB!

So you are telling  the TAB / NZ Government who is collecting $1000?

What the hell has it got to do with the NZ government/ TAB as to who is collecting winnings from gambling at such a pathetic amount???

Do you need a card to put more than a $1000 on Tonkatime?

Either way Tonkatime it surely is a breach of ones privacy, when everything else the government departments won’t tell you anything without stating the “privacy act”!!!!!!

RITA stage ent says either a Punters Pass(card) or your TAB account no. So not sure what point you are making Tonka either way it is wrong!!!!!,

And you don’t think that the TAB hasn’t worked that one out?

You present a ticket for over $1000 to collect and they will have it that you have to identify yourself!

There is no difference to having to present a damn card or your TAB account they both are one and the same,

identifying someone who has placed a bet and got a collect from gambling and giving the country TAX!

The TAB/Govt. Will be monitoring everyone that has good collects and make good money from gambling, and we can’t have that now can we, so we need to chop their legs off and stop them from winning or tax them!

It is all about control Tonka, just another way to control the people!!!

Are the Casinos going to have to provide cards to all their clients at the tables and pokies?

Just a load of bollocks!!

What a silly thing to say!

If you put a winning ticket in a self service machine with a collect of over $1000 do you really believe it will allow you to split the winnings into vouchers less than $1000??????

Dreaming Jonesy!!

They want total control as to who is offloading and who is winning, not to do with money laundering!!!

Clearly you work for the Tab Brodie.

Even if that was the case there’s still ways around it.

Of course there is Tonkatime!

They are going to have loopholes in it so that they don’t have control!

It seems like the TAB will play the compassionate publicity card when the stakes are not too high.

44K is not much to them. Obviously, the 'justice payout' was just too high when it comes to the cricketeres. I just wish the next time my horse gets skittled by the winner and the stipes do nothing they give me my 5 each way back.

The TAB has refunded $44,000 worth of bets on the Warriors in the wake of the Kiwi NRL club's controversial defeat to Parramatta on Saturday.

The Warriors were denied what would have been a spectacular match-winning try in the dying stages after the referees ruled Roger Tuiavsa-Sheck's flick pass to have gone forward.

The visitors were also on the wrong end of a 9-2 penalty count, with the Eels not conceding a penalty between the ninth and 80th-minute.

A message on the TAB website said the bookmaker had decided to refund all head-to-head bets on the Warriors, labelling it a "justice payout".

Good on the TAB for paying out on the Warriors, but does seem pretty weird.

There have been a helluva lot worse decisions made and injustices than the Warriors decision.

Week in and week out there are bad decisions from referees that cost teams wins, so are they now going to start paying out on these as well?

Horse doesn’t get a run, full of running and runs 4th, pay out the place divvie please?

Anyway, only a few more sleeps and we have to present our PUNTERS CARD, that the TAB states that it is to PROTECT US ALL!!!

BOLLACKS!,
