I believe if you own a business with and have terms and conditions with customers then you can refuse or accept whoever you like if it is within the terms and conditions of that business. As a customer you can either accept those terms or go elsewhere. Most businesses have clients that are more profitable to them than others and therefore those clients that provide more profit or spend more get treated differently with more discounts. Strictly speaking the NZ TAB are meant to have a monopoly within NZ. Punters in NZ cannot walk into any other betting agency in their town and place a bet. The only option they have is the NZ TAB. Yes, there are other betting agencies online, but the TAB in NZ do have a monopoly. I guess the point being made here is why are they treating their (soon to be ex) customers SO differently (badly)? And why are people asking this? Because the actions of the NZ TAB and their inability to care for and cater to their current customers (not just their platinum tier punters), will be heavily detrimental to NZ racing in the medium to long term. 1 Quote

Simple business rules apply. TheNZ TAB advertise on TV that they are worried about punters having a problem with gambling! How many punters that lose do they restrict? Alternatively, if punters were successful punters you would think they would be happy if they didn’t like having punters that couldn’t afford to lose! However, no they restrict them to next to nothing, so who is their customer base if they stop the winners and the losers? The truth is the NZ TAB love losing punters only and will have nothing to do with winning punters and don’t play FAIR! There are many cases where they have treated winning punters differently and unethically! As for saying that any business can have terms and conditions, it doesn’t damn well mean that your terms and conditions are legal? You could T & Cs that say that you won’t serve Australians but that wouldn’t be legal, or religion etc You should have no right to be able to not sell to someone just because they are better than someone else, as the NZ TAB is meant to be a gambling business, which tends to meant to have winners and losers, but no the NZ TAB only want losing punters!
