Flagship uberalles Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Why wouldn't they have the meeting on thoroughbred track? Or is there no civility between the harness and t.b in that area? 1 Quote

Probably not time enough to prepare the track, get the distances worked out etc. I imagine there is more to it than meets the eye and with the transfer itself that would be the last thing they would have time for. 1 Quote

Flagship uberalles Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Couple of sapling stakes from early 80's, I doubt we will see races chocked with this kind of talent for long while 1 Quote

Working bee at 3 wasn't needed, our good friends at Ashvagas had everything in tip top condition. Thanks again 1 1 Quote

If LESS than an inch of rain can cause the meeting to be cancelled, what chance of the October meeting going ahead! Plenty of time to make a plan B for another grass surface instead if you start now! Banks Peninsular is preferable to Ashburton IMO. But I would take a Reefton,Waimate, Westport or Oamaru Quote
Rusty Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Was the irrigation left on overnight or something? If it was indeed less than an inch of rain, something doesn't seem right. Quote

I have no idea of what they have done to the track but I am guessing they are hoping for some good grass growing weather. Quote
Flagship uberalles Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Isn't Rangiora closer to Methven and still have grass track? Quote
