Phenomenal run by Oscar Bonavena and the fact that the AllStars are now buying up the best young trotters is not great news for the trotting owners and trainers as they will be running for the scraps as with the pacers. My good friend Brodie, I think you a bit of the mark here mate. Oscar Bonavena is not the first top trotter that the All Stars have trained. This is nothing new. Don't you remember a very good All Stars trotter, Icandoosit? Now there was a phenomenal trotter. No disrespect to the horses in last nights race but none of them are in the same class as Icandoosit. Also, again no disrespect, but apart from Sundee's Son and Marcoola, Oscar Bonavena didn't have a lot to beat, as the rest of field average.

I am aware that the AllStars have had very good trotters before but you would have to say that they have preferred to plunder the stakes in pacing races! Of course Icandoosit was pretty much a champion but the fact is that it appears that they are now looking to buy up the very best of the young trotters if they are available. Oscar and Enhance the Calm were clearly the 2 best 2 year old trotters and they bought them both. Hopefully they will leave some decent stakemoney for the other trainers! 1
