Trotting Rule- When do you get disqualified for galloping??

Can someone please explain the current rule for galloping trotters at the beginning of a race???

I thought I knew  what it was, until last night!

Call Me Trouble clearly put up a fantastic performance to win the last race at Cambridge last night!

However, it is very surprising that it was allowed to retain its first  position as it galloped for the first 200 metres by the look of it on Trackside.

The Stewards report about it was extremely brief and was not forthcoming as to why it was allowed to retain its position and not be disqualified!

The Racing Integrity Unit seriously should change its name!

Do not get Brodie wrong, it was the best horse by far on its performance, however does that mean it shouldnt have to comply with the harness NZ rules?

Does anyone know why it was not disqualified??

Hey Brods,

Yeah, you saw my last post on Camb 🙈

Yeah, as I said I was pleased it didn't get disqualified for selfish reasons, as I wanted it to be cleared, due to it being on my fun BOAY selections, also as it was 2-5 starts ish ago at Alex in the last also. I remember @thegalah started a threat called Call Me Trouble, as he felt the horse should Not of been disqualified and it took approx 45 mins for Alex Stripes to come to that conclusion. It was a bit controversial that disqualification.

Anyway last nite while watching with a friend & it galloped & I said "oh no, thats the 1 Im watching", then blow me down, it caught the field, then I think in straight got ahead, then got headed, then come back on the line. Popular nice win. And they got the penalty free win as had Jnr on.

We both thought it was over for the horse, as both said - hmm we think it likely galloped more than the allowed 100 metres. But lets wait and see, as the camera angle we have been shown so far, you can't see the horse gallop, so there is not enough evidence it actually did, even if it looked like it might of. Friend said, "but that they may have more angles than what was shown".

Checked results later, and it was official got the win. So suspect without full evidence that was the reason. Then followed thru with adding up our BOAY selections with Call Me Trouble getting the win.

Feel free to debate or disagree with me anyone. Im not sure on this. Just saying what I/we saw.

Personally believe it galloped well over 150 metres from warching Trackside replays.

The fact is the Stewards report says nothing at all about distance it has galloped, shows that they are trying to hide that tney have stuffed up again.

They should be able to tell us exactly how many metres the horse galloped for,,I say well over 150metres so should have been disqualified without doubt!

Do I think that it is another wrong decision by the racing officialdom?

Of course it is,  but they continue to come and do not think they are going to come right unless they have a cleanout!

Peter Lamb is still starting races in the South Island, just shows us all how incompetent or lacking integrity, the RIU unit is!

Thats what i thought too. If they had decided it did not gallop for 150m,fair enough, but why not state how far it galloped like they have in the past.  It only leads to the conclusion that the matter was not clear cut and the reason they didn't was to avoid criticism.

Yeah having trouble getting her back to her best

Did you like my online commentary? Not 100% sure, but I think its the first time done in NZ.

Yeah, I wasnt taking the piss, I was glad she trotted all the way. Showed ability early on, she seems to be improving a bit more every start.
Just one thing, and I am not a vet or anything, but anything amiss with her which made head turn around 200m out?

Great Forbs you are back online are you Retarded Driver? Yes/No?

Just as in STAR WARS , with the evil 'Emporor Palpatine' and Alter Ego 'Supreme Leader Snoke' (pictured) trying to take down the heroes Skywalker and Han Solo,

you have 'Forbury' and his Alter Ego 'Retarded Driver' trying to destroy and eliminate Mark Purdon, Ben Hope and anyone else from this Rebel 'Driving 'Alliance of NZ Harness racing  not worthy of being in their Empire !!!!
