Completely disagree with the decision but the JCA's ruling is final, the dog will be allowed to compete in the Amazing chase. What a joke. Will they reopen the noms for those of us that were led to believe that we had to have our dog qualified to enter the series? And what about the dog itself? Due to this, he will only get one chance.

So the trainer & GRNZ were supporting the start of the greyhound, while the RIU was against it starting.

Did the JCA forget to consider Stu's testimony?

Stu Cashen wrote the conditions for the 2018 Amazing Chase on behalf of GRNZ and has been asked to clarify two sections in regards to these conditions and his response is below:

"Firstly, last year there was no C1 restriction, you may remember we altered this after the AC opened this year to enable the race to be penalty free.

Secondly, the criteria able to race in NZ was written in to make quite sure that dogs on stand downs etc could not nominate, as is the case with normal race nominations. This was to ensure that when the FOB markets opened all the entrants were, at that stage, able to race. It would not be fair to punters to include dogs that may not pass satisfactory trials or recover from injuries".

Stu wrote the condition into the race to keep dogs such as Pinny Mack out, right?

Why was GRNZ so supportive of it starting? To save face over what they had mistakenly told the trainer?

I smell at rat somewhere within GRNZ headquarters....

Yankiwi, you have hit the nail on the head.

one would expect the entry conditions were ratified by the oversight committee of the amazing chase

Oversight committee (race complaints, anomalies, queries, verification of final field, etc.)
Greg Kerr (chair) Robert Death, Tony Music, Venessa Trass, Gavin Whiterod.

Greg Kerr is the racing manager in NZ, and purportedly provided Steve Clark with the information that the dog was eligible despite being on the committee which ratified the condition that it wasn't eligible. (short-term memory loss)

so the oversight committee who includes G.Kerr doesn't believe the dog shouldn't be racing in the amazing chase but the NZGRA with G.Kerr as racing manager does believe the dog should be racing....

1) If the dog was eligible to race why did he have to perform in a requalifying trial at all

2) how can a dog that isnt even registered to race in NZ be entered into a nz racing series/race.  According to the email provided by G.kerr 17/7/2018 jca report #17  is that the dog wasn't registered to race in NZ until the 25/6/2018 - 5 days after the closing of nominations.

so the dog was on a standdown, and not registered to race in NZ but could still be entered in the Amazing chase..... wow!

Especially when Steve Clark has known habit of attacking other greyhound participants over the years for mis-grading, mis-nominating their dogs, and constantly complains if he thinks a dog hasn't re qualified before racing.

The oversight committee needs the spotlight on them.

They ratified rules that they didn't even understand, right?

What a joke.

Side note - The RIU couldn't have put forward a very strong case to support there side of the argument. They had the rules on their side & they still lost...

What another joke.

I think its AC Roberts race to lose. Dyna Dave and Dyna Weslyn have seen the track, than he has Dyna Elwyn on top of those two.
