Well SHEREE T is your girl !!! 2017 winner only lady driver win. Interestingly, a VERY tough race to win , with 2 of the greatest drivers I've ever seen, Peter Wolfenden is not on winners list , and Mark Purdon with just the 1 x victory in the Dominion Handicap. that is quite astonishing lol......... looks like John Dunn will go past that with defending champion SUNDEES SON this year , to get his 2nd win in the race after victory last year. Surely he gets a 10m handicap this time though ??? Wait does that mean that Self Assured will start off 10metres? And you are saying maybe Sundees Son will too ... ? Interesting, well then sorry Gamms if that is the case re SA can't see him winning. Would take a lot of team driving & don't think that will happen this year lol. Even Sundees Son off 10 metres then having to circle that BIG WHOLE FIELD, makes it a lot tougher for him. On a quick other note, just got back from supermarket - weirdness AGAIN, promise no lies or exaggeration & another person in PJs, this time PJ pants only. An Asian couple, the dude was in clothes & she was NOT walking out of supermarket. Back to this story, jumped back online here upon return & to check out last race TAB, & pfff straight before my eyes a horse Percy was gone - scratched from the last race. Prob approx 18 mins prior last race, its race. Nothing was said about it. So just curious. Sick horse ... ? Shad
Can anyone remember the horse that won two dominions back in the day, was the first nz horse to win in the USA at its first ever start over there, trained and owned on the coast, I think the mighty lyell creek the only one to win 3 dominions, oh the memories.

Forgot its race outfit. So much for transparency. A lil heads up, virus or sore leg or whateva for such a late scratching be super easy to do in report. It's Bit of a tragedy !!!!, as gives the opposition a chance. ....???? Let's have a look at some dual winners then. Il Vicolo wins off front 1995, then wins off 10m handicap 1996. Just an Excuse off front 2003, then wins off 10m 2004 Cup. Flashing Red off front in 2006, then wins off 15m 2007. Monkey King off front 2009 then won off front again 2010? bit of a gift then? . Set bad trend for future years..... Terror To Love off front wins 2011, then front again ? 2012 win, then front mark again for 2013 win? .... Where's the handicap to stop him???? Lazarus in race record 3.53.1 Nz Cup win in 2016. so NO HANDICAP was just a Gift Win for Lazarus in 2017 then ???? cruising to a 5 length win .... 10m in 2017 would of given opponents 'some' hope??? Self Assured off the front wins 2020 Nz Cup by 3 and 1/2 lengths , and gets No handicap for this years race ?? this means 2021 Nz Cup Will Be 'Absolute Gift' for him !!! write the cheque then. Il Vicolo, Just an Excuse and Flashing Red all did it the 'Proper' way like past grand Cup winners Lordship, False Step ,Cardy and co, etc, and came off a handicap for each win lol...... what good tough horses . woose horses these days lol .....scared of 10m?

Tots down with Gamms here, what a gimme. Both Sundees Son & Self Assured should be off 10 metres As Green says “Dont know who it is, that makes these decisions”. Lol what a hoot he is. Check out those face expressions too. Chief btw a side eye glance to right states iv posted 21 times on this thread. Thats not right. Iv not posted on this thread that many times. Making me look like a postaholic with your editing skills lol 🤣 If this is part of trying to send Karrots to postaholic anonymous. Tip - won’t happen everything is shut atm hehe. Remember level 3. Why would I need booster shots of any kind, when this socslled Covid19 contagious virus, has not killed anyone? I personally do not know a single person that has had covid19, so NO I do not live in FEAR!!!!! Just watch as the Castle falls apart, as things do not work out like she was hoping! You are delusional if you think the Pfizer jab is going to alter things for the better, quite the opposite! Not hijacking the post, everyone just needs to WAKE UP, it is far more serious than a very mild virus. Fair enough, still believe that what is happening in this former great country is far more important than the bloody NZ Cup!!!!!!!!! The racing industry is so struggling at the moment, and not receiving the millions from CuP Day is just another nail in the coffin! Does it really matter who wins the Cup, if the industry can not afford to run the meeting???

The 117th running of the Cup that was still held during two World Wars. Freeman Holmes won it driving Trix Pointer in 1919 during a pandemic. Alan B Holmes won it driving Gold Bar in 1945. Even a burning stand didn't stop the FFA being run on Show Day 1961. The 20,000 crowd on course just moved into the birdcage or the inside field of the track. I imagine Brodie the bookie had a field day in in the infield!

Re noms Telfers have 5 of 6 in a 3 y-o pace + 4 of 8 in fillies & mares & 4 of 14 in 2 y-o. Wallis & Hackett have 5 of 6 in a trot. Can see Galahs point re could become problematic. Guess they will send more down to South once facilities allow. Great points there Chief 👍

In my opinion better for tradition to continue no matter what the situation is. That's a bigger finger to the politicians and bureaucrats than cancelling. Chief, Cup day is a huge source of revenue for the Club and also employs hundreds on the day. Yes the costs will be much reduced but the markup on the hospitality is massive and will leave a huge hole in the income for the year. Will agree to disagree that it is going to be a major loss to the industry both monetary wise and to increase interest in racing from potential newbies. Yes Cup Day will not earn as much revenue as in the past. But Ozzie Thoroughbred Racing is being staunch and keeping on running events. AND making money!! What do you expect the Met and HRNZ do? Cancel the 117th edition of the NZ Trotting Cup? What does that achieve?
