Anyone got a comment on King Arthurs drive - Race 11 Methven ?

My opinion he gave the horse not chance of running a placing and destroyed the chances of the horse inside him.

A shocker and makes R Cameron's drive, which I noticed a lot of vitriol on this site, not deserving of the strong comment he received but of course he is not a favoured son.

i can't see any comparison with the cameron drive. The drives were complete opposites. It was an over aggressive drive, but thats what he does some times.

At least williamson's horse had a bit of pre race form and it kept going whereas C thornley's horse didn't.So thornleys drive didn't pay off either. Thats racing, and sometimes it happens.

Better to try too hard, than just follow them around. Would you rather have their drives than say j young who just followed them around on all her well favored horses today.Where has forbury got to anyway.

I agree. At least Matty put his horse into the race. I would much rather that than those drivers who sit back and wait forever.

Yes it looks a poor drive and they went a slow time compared to the other 1850 races, IMO as it was 8 weeks between runs they wanted to give him a good hit out so no point in sitting last and no hope in a sprint home - they could do that in a trial....

The track looked great grass wise but from a punting point of view a tough track to pick on, that final turn looks pretty sharp compared to others and horses seem to lose ground.

Waiting for the stewards report for the cup, no 10 meter tape I heard but Brad crept up right behind the front line IMO and didn't start from the correct handicap.

One of my current complaints is the amount of time it takes after a meeting for the stewards report to be released.

As of 9pm this evening they are claiming it should be available soon after the last race.

Todays Chairperson of Stewards is Paul Williams.

What's up Paul?

The fact you consider those two drives to be even remotely close tells us everything we need to know.

Worlds apart, just like you from reality as you've proven time and again.

I mean seriously, what goes through your head?

The replays of the races seems to take a long time to come up on the hrnz website these days. Not sure who does them, but the last couple of meetings have had some races with no replays until the next day.It also seems in some cases the pre start time  is deliberately cut short to have 0 seconds. The methven cup being a example of thatWhy's that? The best place to get the replays is to open a nsw tab account,as the nz race replays are always up on their website within 5 minutes of the race being completed.

On another subject. i recently opened a betfair account. But looking at yesterdays races, the dividends offered on betfair were always well short of what you get on the nz tab. In most races every starter was paying 2 or 3 $ less a win ,and less a place. In one race as they said go it had only taken $273  in the win pool, but the odds were so small in that race you would wonder why anyone bet on it. If you compare that to australian harness racing the majority of races have better odds on betfair than on offer on the nz tote.

NZ pools on betfair always poor, mind you if you like Aus harness & gallops & sports, you will get good odds.
