What success are they building on? - I've never known the sport to be in such bad shape and heading further into oblivion!

Why does someone need to be emotionally Intelligent for this role? Need to be able to cry when all finally falls to bits?

What is Cadence? Biking to work for climate change?

Would now be a good time to save a significant sum of money and amalgamate the CEO/COO roles into one?

Lead & Drive transformational change - You mean there is even more damage for these people to do in the industry?

Anyone sending in their resume ? keeping in mind you'll potentially be competing with Fairy Flash for the role.

New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing Chief Executive Officer

  • Lead & drive transformational change
  • An industry undergoing reform, to secure a strong future
  • ‘Industry first’ and ‘improve racing’

The Role

With transformational change underway, New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) is looking for an experienced CEO to replace our outgoing Chief Executive, to build on his success and bring their own expertise to the industry.

‘Industry First’ and ‘Improve Racing’ continue to be the key drivers for NZTR.  As a multi-dimensional organisation, the focus on driving results for the industry, requires depth of industry knowledge and relationships.  Reporting directly to the Board the CEO will lead the organisation and wider industry into a new chapter of ‘reform’.

Specifically, the CEO will be focused on:

  • Leading and driving a change agenda focusing on the delivery of transformational initiatives
  • Leading and inspiring a dedicated team, focusing on development and deeper industry engagement
  • Supporting industry stakeholders to build and deliver the “Industry First” actions to “Improve Racing”

Skills & Experience

You will epitomise our vision and values, ‘Together shaping a bright future for our people, our horses’.  Experience in the Racing and Thoroughbred code is essential, and we are particularly interested in candidates who have a background reflecting success in transformational change and established industry relationships, in addition you will be:

  • Emotionally intelligent, cultivating strong relationships both internally and eternally

  • Passionate about growing the Thoroughbred industry, by optimising the capability of NZTR

  • Commercially astute, and leading with cadence and stamina

  • Balanced, with the ability to connect with stakeholders through effective communication skills and negotiation skills to achieve positive outcomes

CUBO are the company appointed to select a merry band of men and women to put forward for the role. Robin Hood should apply so he can give back to the owners some worthwhile prizemoney.

Kerrie Cox is CUBO EQUINE. Kerrie worked for Gary and Mark Chittock for the past 15 years as Bloodstock Manager, until she recently set up this new venture.

I am sure there will be no Breeder influence in the appointment.........will there????

Wow now I understand why the advert was written in the manner it was, not enough cadence in that company profile if you ask me.

But then I wouldn't know becuase I don't have the systems and processes or the skillset for that manner to provide anyone with any confidence in what I am writing. Not sure anyone here is capable of making a calculated intervention that would allow me to greater productivity and some sort of positive commercial outcome either and most certainly no added value!

What a load of rubbish. I suppose all you can do is laugh.

On the positive side, I don't think I have seem them requiring "a depth of industry knowledge" in such a role in the past. So I suppose that is one positive.

Can anyone remember the days of Haf Poland when the CEOs used to hang around for a while? These days they only seem to last a few years each. Get in, fuck it up, and get out quick before your inadequacies get found out.

True , don't think this one leaving before the inadequacies are found out though.

Perhaps the comment on racing knowledge is because they already know who the new CEO is.

But Doomed everyone knew of Saundry's inadequacies except the lunatics at the asylum, and still they went ahead, they didn't even google him or they would have discovered the bullying allegations,...... and look what happened.......

Probably the most dissapointing appointment we have had in years, can't think any positive to come out of it. Has dived and destroyed parts of the industry and is off on his bike before it all really catches fire!

In terms of transparency and publishing information Purcell was miles ahead!

NEWS FLASH

JJ FLASH has put his name forward for the role but has been rejected for a variety of reasons, the most prominent being he's tasteless.

Never mind JJ.

No doubt you will continue to grip onto the one thing that keeps you happy.

On another site, there is a poster called Nerula who actually stated Saundry was a good Captain. That in itself explains as to how we got to where we're at.

I was once told when working in a Corporate environment that "the end is nigh when we start believing our own propaganda".  Stakeholders have believed the propaganda for decades and have ignored the fundamentals.  Those that try to address the fundamentals are seen as being negative.

I did for a short time believe the propaganda which was influenced by having a fair modicum of ownership success but as I've posted many times I saw the light when I had a very competitive horse that returned a cheque every time it went to the races but couldn't pay its way.  Even when five of those cheques were wins!  I haven't seen a change in the fundamentals since then.

Yes that's our problem here in NZ, no concern about the performance just concerned if they were a good guy.

I think that person may be in the Owners Assn so says it all really.
