I just noticed they have one $12,000 maiden at Addington tonight and only 7 starters. Rangiora on Sunday has numerous $10,000 maidens with capacity fields. Do trainers not like Addington or is there another reason for this strange anomaly? Not as if there is anything flash in the Addington field to scare the others off.

When you nominate horses , you usually try to place them somewhere in a race where you think they can Win.

Addington track,  would be 'Seconds Faster' than Rangiora, and way too quick for a chunk of the horses nominated at Rangiora. (usually) 

As it panned , good fortune Always favours the Brave, and Jim Curtin struck the jack-pot !! training and driving STAR CASINO last night , in the Addington maiden. 

With only 6 moderate opponents , drawing the coveted 1 alley, and a very slow time run (only 59 sec last half mile required to win it) so Jim takes home the $6,600 first prize on offer at Addington, and is laughing all the way to the bank.

I also can not understand why some trainers seem to want to nkt race at Addington.

Motukarara always has full fields, and I am not a trainer, but it always seems a lot harder on a horse racing on grass than an all weather track.

Addington racing on a Friday night - Rangiora on the grass, during the day on a Sunday - that's probably why.

Rangiora as quick as Addington? Get real mate. No way. And the meeting was on the grass track that was dead. Every horse has a chance at addington if good enough. Not so at Rangiora with many horses not getting runs in the home straight.

I meant the AllWeather track and not the grass track! Lol
