Richards staying

Peanut

With respect Peanut, that wont be happening, we all know the cartel runs racing, however, they [Petone] would need to re-write the rules of racing and HKJC wont allow it as it comprises them also. God forbid TA returned a positive in NZ, then HK would need to suspend him immediately.

If 'bought by Dave' thinks that, he's imbibed too much Christmas Day.

Is it any different to Richards having horses based in Sydney or Melbourne for months on end and not being on the ground there?

Or for that matter Waller having stables in the Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne?  All different racing jurisdictions.  Waller having 400+ horses in work at anyone time.

So what "rules of racing need to be re-written"?  Or is it the waccy baccy talking @Joe Bloggs?

100% agree with you if TA was setting up a stable in HK and he was running it there.  But surely it is very different if he is no longer employed as the Te Akau trainer?   Or have I totally misunderstood the situation?

Depends on the HKJC contract.  There would have to be a transition period with handover's occurring in Singapore and NZ as Logan and Walker moved around.  Richards is best placed to oversee the horses currently lined up for the next few months.  I would say that initially there is an amount of flexibility being applied to allow the smooth transition to the new regime.  It would be in everyone's interests for that to be the case and I don't see where any rules of racing in NZ would be broken.

Is it any different you asked me? Yes it is, Waller appoints forepersons, and in turn they have to be anointed as ''assistant trainer''.....therefore they then come under the same rules and directions that the stewards and rules of racing preside over. If a horse on the coast goes positive, Waller cops the fine, or disqualification....God forbid. If Jamie's father blew positive in SYD/MEL/BNE the sane applies, they both go.........HK wont stand for that, it sets a precedent and HKJC will never ever do that.......

The fact is none of us have any idea what the contractual arrangements are during the transition phase of the three trainers involved.  However given the amount of outside scrutiny and speculation that Te Akau is subjected to I'm sure that everything is well covered.

Doesn't matter what Ellis writes into his contract Chief, if it's not sanctioned by the racing bodies it's not worth the paper its written on.......now if he wants to pay Richards his 10% that's his business, if he wants to call Richards his Jefe de Casa, or Chef de Cabine, or any other name for head honcho, boss cocky, then good on him, but lets see what HKJC have to say......I bet they choked on their congee when they read that.

FFS Joe I was referring to the contract Richards is entering into with the HKJC.  You yourself have said it isn't against the rules of racing to have a part absentee trainer as there are ways to stay within the rules.

Get on the HKJC snitch line and let them know.  I'm sure they know your views about China and Hong Kong racing and will sit up and take note.

BTW I see TA are doing OK today as per usual in the Stakes races.

Richards will obviously be overseeing the NZ operation until he goes to HK in about 4 months.  But when he leaves NZ and leaves TA that is when his name has to leave the race book as TA trainer. Surely?

I can't see Richards going to HK is something special. Quite frankly he has been too successful for his own good and Ellis has had to pull every string to get him  the HK position.

I note that Mark Walker is a now a partner in the Te Akau operation and has found its time to move back home. So seems Jamie has been pushed sideways.

I think he has made a great choice if it is his decision, training horses in NZ outside of the TA bubble is not for the faint hearted and even with the backing of an entity like TA training succesfully in Aus at those major tracks is probably the toughest gig in the world. He sounds switched  on enough to understand all that.

Where did you get that information from?

Are you a Journalist because you have an aptitude for making things up.  Mark Walker has been a part of the Te Akau operation for a long time.  In effect he never left!

What are you going on about. One thing to be part of another to be financial partner.

Bollocks.  You have no idea what the contractual arrangements are or have been.  Fact is Walker has always been part of the TA team.

You are asserting that Richards "has been pushed sideways" and inferring that DC orchestrated it by facilitating the Hong Kong offer.

Where's your proof that any of your supposition is nothing more than fiction?

Have you nothing better to do than create personal arguments.

I said "seems" which is an opinion. Or are opinions not allowed on "your" site.

You posted your opinion which answers your question.  It goes without saying that BOAY offers all unrestricted opportunity to express their opinion.

However you haven't substantiated your opinion with any evidence.  In fact you seem to undermine your own opinion.  For example you suggest Richards was "pushed sideways" by DC facilitating his movement to Hong Kong.

Is Richards having the opportunity of training in Hong Kong with the support of Te Akau really a push sideways?  Or is it DC helping a relatively young couple grow and further their chosen careers?   Of course the latter doesn't fit the narrative of Machiavellian machinations being afoot at TA.

That's an even better conspiracy theory than any Covid one and that's saying something!

"Pushed sideways" really?
