Brodie
Just watched race 2 at Addington. How has this happened? Since when is Robbie Close, John Morrison?? The info had Robbie Close driving Baileys Diamond no.5 and sat parked the whole way with Matt Cross calling it Best Trio!!!!!! It was no. 5 which was Baileys Diamond. No. 8 Best Trio was back on the fence and was meant to be John Morrison driving it but it was ROBBIE CLOSE!!!! This has to be one of the biggest stuff ups I have ever seen and how come the STIPES didnt pick this up??????! This is an absolute SHOCKER and heads should roll for this and the STIPES want to charge juniors for doing nothing?????? Looking forward to the replay cos it looked like the drivers were on the wrong horses and started from the right position? Looked like no. 5 started from 5 and sat parked and 8 was back on the fence. Am I wrong ? Edited March 3, 2022 by Brodie

Doesnt the stipes check each horse and driver before they go on the track? Maybe the mask was covering his eyes, seriously? Then they tell us all untruths Ranga! Maybe they couldn't find the remote stipes house so just did away with the checking process.

the galah
looked like dean taylor put the wrong numbers on each horse, the drivers nor the stipes nor the starting crew picked it up.So they just lined up in the positions the numbers were. The drivers were driving the right horses, just had the wrong numbers on.Quite funny in some ways.Shouldn't have happened but one big mix up by all concerned. It is hard to understand how it could possibly happen when u would think that the drivers would have looked at the fields?? What are the starting crew and stipes doing? Matt Cross obviously goes by colours and driver, rather than looking at no.s!

the galah
At least the stipes picked it up i suppose. Take a look at the start of race 2 at cambridge last night. It never gets a mention, but the horse mackali was supposed to start off 15m,yet started in front of all the horses off the unruly off the front, and about 5 lengths in front of the other 15m horse. Thats how it ended up in the trail after 50m. Then there was the start of race 8 at oamaru on sunday. Watch the starters assistant let the 10m tape go over his shoulder while running. The tape on that occasion hindered the inside runner. That didn't get a mention either. Strange but true.

eljay
Doesn't a stipe check the horses brands before it goes onto the track. Surely the wrong number should have been discovered then. Very sloppy work by whichever stipe doing this job. Public & owners penalised, trainer fined, but presumably stipe gets off scot free. Will be interesting read RIB report when (if) published. 2
Brodie
This is appalling for harness racing! Racing Integrity where are you? The industry is being run very poorly and yet the public have to play by their rules!
