nomates
So i have been watching some trackside today and intermittently have seen A Rodley doing Everest interviews , he has gone over for the carnival to do some in depth interviews for us , something that the locals seem very good at yet they consider A Rodley will be an improvement . How come the TAB can afford to send him there but can't afford on course presenters at most of our meetings ? Are they yet again just taking the piss ? What part of this do i not get ? 2

I thought the same, be interested to know what they are expecting this to do to generate turnover, seems like a nice to do initiative if racing in this country was travelling at the dizzying heights of Aus racing , but that seems but a fantasy. Lets face we don't rate our own racing, you only have to watch Weigh In to not that conclusion. Half if not more of the show is about Aus racing, to me very little on the show is done to generate any interest in the NZ product and don't tell me thats not possible, its just lazy plain lazy or more likely incompetence .

Rodley has been a reliable and faithful servant for the NZ racing old boy network.A junket to Oz is a trifle. The junkets Murry,Sarge and co used to cover the globe. Doomed
I imagine he is going over because there are several NZ trained horses in the race? Surely that would be the only reason. And if they are going to that much trouble to cover a mud meeting in Sydney just imagine what they will unleash for Ashburton.

I haven't seen the field, but I assume several if it is important enough to send someone over especially in these cash strapped times. There isn't any. The closest connection is Nature Strip which is owned by some prominent Kiwis.

A Per Incanto and an ex Kiwi Jock riding and two ex kiwi trainers ... but yeah grasping at straws a bit.

nomates
Yeah well it's not Rodders fault he is in Sydney , the plan was to send him to Melbourne where the majority of visiting Kiwi horses are , but , the TAB's budget didn't stretch to getting him to Melbourne so Sydney it was . The long term plan is for Rodders to hitch down next Monday after the Everest meeting . So if anybody knows someone travelling the Pacific Highway , can you ask them to keep an eye out for a bedraggled looking bloke wearing unwashed clothes and carrying a small backpack and pole and billy can , if they can show some humanity and offer him a lift , maybe even offer to buy him a feed because i would think the sausage rolls that NZTR threw in as their part of the costs would have run out , apparently some got eaten at an NZTR management meeting by mistake as they thought sausage rolls were only for senior management . Please if you do see him show some humanity , he's doing his best . 2
Joe Bloggs
There's a float heading down, I know the driver, I'll let him know NM, as long as Rodders doesn't leave his teeth on the dashboard things should work out fine...........................
Doomed
I imagine they drew straws. Poor old Rodders got the short straw and the lucky chap who drew Ashburton didn't want to rub it in by bragging about it. 1
