Chief Stipe
I really can't see how you can expect to see things change when you have NZTR who make the penalties and rules seemingly bereft of any motivation and the RIB an organisation that is broke financially and ethically! Joe Bloggs
I agree, there should have been an uprising years ago, the Balme lays with the breeders, owners, trainers, NZTR do what they do cos they can.......simples.

If I was his employer I'd be on the lookout for a new employee, oh that's right, he's so far in front of the rest that's a wasted exercise, silly me.

Then it must have been brain fade then. Whatever, for a rider of his experience the display was awful. I agree - mostly - with folk who mutter about the standard of Sth Island jockeys...but bloody hell, he is 'supposed' to be the best we have. If so, our problems are worse than thought.

If you observe the head-on footage closely, the inside horse has overreacted with blinkers on and has cannoned into the hind-quarter of the middle horse which has in turn caused that rider to be dislodged. Racing is about winners and losers, Bosson is a winner. A loser would not have won the race. 3 hours ago, Freda said: Whatever, for a rider of his experience the display was awful. Big comment considering one of them is one of NZ's most successful ever riders, the most successful ever woman rider in NZ and a multiple Premiership winner.

My 'namesake' Freda White achieved her lifelong ambition, to win a National. But she won by the original winner, ridden by the unfortunate Ronnie Weaver, weighing in light. I recall her shaking her head, and wiping away a tear. I always wanted a National, she said, but not like that. I endorse her regret, and - referring to Bosson - if I had to 'win' a race by knocking over the opposition, I wouldn't be very happy. I said months ago that Allpress has appeared to have lost her nerve. There is a thread critical of her rides on BOAY started by someone other than myself. I recall her recently making comments like "you don't want to be on the onside of Riddell" etc.

You of course Freda were the victim of some dodgy tactics in the 1000 Guineas a few years back(was it Michael Walker?). Your filly was bloody lucky to stand up. For someone who might have one good enough for a G1 fairly irregularly it must have been gutting. Freda White - another of the characters that made NZ racing so great in the 50's 60's and 70's. Especially in the jumping game but Crooks Hazlett Hillis Cochrane Winsloe Anderton Mavor. And that's in the deep South alone(and I have no doubt left a heap out)
Joe Bloggs
If it was M Walker, the double decker Karma bus arrived good and proper, funny how things get squared up, Bosson's turn will come as will Sam W, the standard of riding is so poor, the standard of policing is trying to reinvent itself, good luck with that, at least it's a start, all we need now is the 'teaching process',. I've said it before ad nauseam however, we had it right back in the day when you couldn't have an apprentice unless, you were an A Trainer, had been a jokey yourself, or proved to a stewards panel you possessed the appropriate skills to have/teach an apprentice/s.........mostly they got it right, sadly administration is at such a level,... that has gone out the door, and chaos reigns.....sadly. However not particularly nice to wish ill luck on anyone.

No I don't wish ill luck, God forbid, a jocks life is tough enough if you're not a natural lightweight, you try and miss 2 meals a day, you never ever get used to it, but reckless riding doesn't go without it's consequences, eventually it catches up.....really it does.
