Brodie
How on earth would the Bookies open a 12 start all unplaced maiden as favourite in the amateur race at Roxburgh on Wednesday, opened at $3! Went only fair in a maiden race at Omakau on Monday after having an economical run. Now trained by Cheree Wigg,, Previously by Andrew Stewart, and has not shown that much ability so far!! Has drawn 1 against race winners including an out of form 7 race winner Change Around! Does seem very odd but there have been many unusual bits of odds settings over the holiday, but this has suited me down to the ground. It is not a strong amateur race but I can not see this horse winning on what it has done so far and to be opened at $3 is very strange. There was a horse that was opened over what it should have been and I think it has a massive chance of victory.
Brodie
What a shocking track to bet on is that Roxburgh. Only fit for trials! How on earth can an unplaced maiden in 12 starts that went average 2 days ago beat race winners? It couldn’t even win a maiden trial . It is great for a holiday venue but as for worth betting on it is a shocker! Yes I had an investment in that race which did miss due to a poor drive but we should all know by now that amateur racing should not be tote betting! Never again will I have a go on that saucer track.
Spatchcock
So was it the drive or the track that led to this sook?

Mate , you must have money 'to burn' if you're getting on these amateur drivers races. However I thought you were a big place punter? and you seemed to Tip the horse Changearound in your Thread opener. So I thought you were 'on the Money' ?? With it running 2nd. The horse had the most experienced , winningist , professional driver too. Sheryl Wigg. And it paid $2.50 place Sportsbet. so not too shabby. nearly took it on your recommendation lol but you scared me in the end lol.

But in hindsight i guess it never pays to write off anything the wigg sisters drive in the amateur races. Horses just seem to go better when they drive them.

It didnt go much at Omakau, and didnt go much in a maiden trial recently either. Not much when Andrew Stewart had it either. It did have a good run today but on what it had shown up to today there is no way it couldve won today even though the field was weak. Something going on here when the Bookies opened at only $3! Thank Christ they only race on that track once a year!!!!

Thank Christ they only race on that track once a year!!!! i like the fact you stuck your head out pre race, and it winning does make one smile. I didn't see that coming and personally had it rated to run a clear last myself,so can see why you started the thread. As to the track. Its the same as every other year,so we know what to expect beforehand. Blair orange driving his 2500 winner was good to see, just a shame boudica just got nutted late in the cup.

Actually just looked at the race again and there was an unusual drive in the race from the horse trained at the same stable, which really set virillo up for the win.Interesting to watch who he was focused on most of the home straight. Don't think anything in it myself, but an interesting watch. Edited January 4, 2023 by the galah

One did pre start and was scr..I thought it goes without saying that a horse that doesn't start, does not have a driver that participates in the race.So no sure what you mean and besides there was no connection whatsoever anyway. i meant the driver who i see said he felt the favorite, and obvious horse to beat, would not take him to the passing lane and also said his horse was pacing roughly, which is hard to pick up if you watch the video.
