Gammalite
Race 1 hits the line and the kiwi's take it with Betterzippit clinging on after leading for the Galah (and top driver Hart) another Grimson feather in his cap. Jack Trainor (his partner in crime) 2nd too with Perfect Stride for team 'Davis'. old kiwi horse Loyalist 3rd. Points after Race 1. 'I'm ready Jet' picks up 4 points for Team 7 in the challenge , and 2 more for the Galah with old war-horse 'Majestic Harry' all the way from Cambridge to Brisbane then to the Interdominion in Melbourne and now Menangle for owner -trainer- driver Britney Graham from Sky Channel. just having a quick drive in-between interviews lol.. that is multi-tasking !! Brodie wondering why he didn't get that one for his kiwi squad ? 😉😎 might not be enjoying this mile racing then. Trotsfan into 2nd place that race with SportingJoy, and Chief sneaking up the fence in for 4th with 'Terror' . Race 5 NSW Derby, goes to BetterBeThe Best for Team Oz and Gamma , and Trainer driver Nathan Turnbull getting his biggest winner to date. That wil put the pressure on these nz challengers lol. Brodster rattling home from the tail with the richly bred kiwi (half brother to King of swing and Bettor twist) in the form of RockNRoll Hammer , getting the hammer down late. he'll win a few that bloke. Gammalite
Great race and it's the man Luke for Trotsfan, with the 'Bondi' Tramcar bullocking past BD Joe very late on to take victory. The Galah regains the outright Lead !! I Cast No Shadow a length from the winner in 5th spot went very well. (Triple Eight nz 3rd and Better Eclipse 4th). you wonder if these betting guys that carry on before each race are real or not? That very strong field and they say they are taking bets of $3000 , etc on BD Joe just before the start. ?? surely too risky ? not going super great or anything. must be Better things to do with $3000 you would think. ?? Thought Hurricane Harley (by Bettor's Delight ) was kiwi bred but see it started in Vic Bred sires stakes as a 3 and 4 year old so had that wrong. You'll have to have an Aussie in MM lol.😎 Fire Fox Nz scratched in the last race for 'Team Brodie' so Sub is the former Southland horse Port Au Prince Nz. now the betting bloke is trying to say there are $10,000 bets going on just now on Captain Ravishing. surely they make this stuff up to sucker people in ? I just think it would be great if the NZ TAB actually took bets that the NZ punters want to put on! When they announce on Trackside that amounts of $200 are worth mentioning then we are in trouble!!!! Hopefully if they do outsource the fixed odds to overseas company, they may actually let punters on for worthwhile amounts?? Firstly they need to raise the ludicrous socalled AML limit from $1k!, Money launderers are not cleaning money by gambling $1k or less on a harness horse! Wake up NZ TAB you are killing the industry but as long as you keep getting paid then you are happy!

Firstly they need to raise the ludicrous socalled AML limit from $1k!, Money launderers are not cleaning money by gambling $1k or less on a harness horse! Wake up NZ TAB you are killing the industry but as long as you keep getting paid then you are happy! I agree the TAB's treatment of successful punters is contributing to the industries demise. The reality is ,as you have said many times, the TAB's current goal is to use whatever tools they have to discourage successful punter participation in nz. The tab's motto is we want your business, but only if you are a loser. Just ask some of their customers. Bookies jobs are to take an equal proportion of bets on all possible outcomes and to factor in a margin, which is their profit. Sure that means sometimes offering fixed odds at less than realistic prices depending on how much support each horse gets,,but that is what they should be able to do. Having said that, bookies should also have the confidence to back their own judgment at times. But they don't.For example i have been commenting about the whales selections recently. I struggle to believe the pathetic odds the tab offers for his selections are totally based on money bet. The TAB just seem so adverse to any loss that they fail to maximise their returns when the opportunity arises . People out there justify the tab's approach by saying its sensible policy to limit their losses from winning punters. They point to how overseas bookmakers operate. Those who do that fail to acknowledge that nz does not have that huge customer base. Also they fail to take into account how most successful punters in nz reinvest profits from betting back into other aspects of the industry. For example it can be in the form of breeding or as an owner paying training expenses or encouraging others to participate..And of course many successful punters invest substantial amounts on the tote, which the tab takes a cut from. The tab's current policies are and will continue a negative flow on effect to that.
