What a contrast between today's two harness meetings. At Westport theres a crowd of people, enjoying food, drink, company, and the excitement of racing. And I'm trying to work out what the excitement package is from Auckland.

Do you not consider Copy That and Akuta racing as exciting

I personally dont, Richie.

Six horse mobile, be a borefest and punters surely wont engage.

Turnover will be very poor the whole meeting, a continued drain on harness financially

Yes an absolute borefest was the race with six starters and a stake of $27k!!!
Was a great result to see Nicholas Cage win due to Akuta letting him away with a 65 second half!!

Deserved to get beaten and Copy That was not put into the boring race.

Stake 27k and only $5k in the win  pool just shows that Alexandra Park racing is a turn off for punters as the  racing is shite there nowadays!

Turnover is going to be very poor so something needs to be done about this course!!

Great day out at Westport, crowd may have been a bit lighter, but we are in March, it's not boxing day, very good win by she's tough, finally got a gap, thought me old favorite boys invasion had got up, certainly plenty atmosphere on course and some very competitive finishes, roll on reefton, unfortunately for me work calls.

those small fields over a mile at auckland tonight have been a race to the first bend, then go as slow as possible, which is really slow, and then just sprint up the straight again.

You can see why the turnovers are so small.

That race just run was a joke. The only driver who moved up on the walking pace was the driver who settled 50m last. He made his move 400m later while the drivers 3,4 and 5 back the fence showed no intention of trying.

Of note in that race was the telfer runner forever me.Compare its form at nz cup time in the group races to now,and its lost not 1 leg but 2.

I see their supposed number 1 stable driver ,j stormont has had only 1 win in 34 drives so far this year,

Obviously Shad you are a Coaster so not many racedays to go to, good to see the coast getting a fair go as in no Cantebury meeting helps to get the 10 races than shortchanging them like Boxing day.
