  1. Empire Rose did it in a Melbourne Cup if I recall correctly.
  2. But didn't "take a bite out of its cheek" as you alleged.
  3. So it didn't ?
  4. Another post saying nothing from the naysayer of NZ Harness, Rangiora Branch.
  5. Well this Topic is closed AGAIN! Until the next time @Thomass finds a horse that won first time in Blinkers POST race.
  6. How did they discover they "worked"? Given "work" isn't under race conditions. However the point the @Pete Lane makes is that Blinkers "first time" doesn’t work more than 50% of the first time. So how does a punter choose which horse to punt on? Therefore a punter who makes money does so by looking for value and other factors NOT whether or not a horse is wearing blinkers for the first time.
  7. @Thomass why didn't they try the blinkers in the Cox Plate?
  8. Probably get away with two tractors as Addington is quite a bit wider than the AWT. I suspect there is some tractor company sponsor's involved at Addington as well. But then again, although it might be sacrilege why couldn't the Gallops talk to the Trots and share? Very rarely if ever do they race the same day.
  9. Now that's interesting. A "last-resort"! "Undisciplined".
  10. Probably cost is a factor. Other constraints would be skill, not enough machinery, applying turf custom and practice to synthetic. I always thought that they would groom between races which seems the logical thing to do otherwise those who race early get the safest track. Then again I also assumed they would groom the track every day BEFORE track work.
  11. So answer this question: Why didn't Daddy Hayes suggest the Blinkers before the Cox Plate?
  12. You could apply this broad definition to the Democrat Elite as well. Nice Googling by the way. Obviously you don't have a clue either and could write anything in your own words. Well that closes this Topic.
  13. Really? I do recall you rubbishing him at one time online. I guess things change when it suits. Anyway you have done this topic to death for years to the point it is becoming boring regardless of any veracity to your supposition. BTW O'Sullivan uses a rating system that I doubt takes into consideration whether blinkers are used or not. He rates a horse on its relative performance pure and simple regardless of if it is wearing blinkers.
  14. How often did Imperatriz wear them? Te Akau don't often try them as a last resort. For example Melody Belle raced most of her career in them. So your Blinkers First Time On or Off isn't a Te Akau metric to follow. BTW the First Time Blinkers in your Super Maiden at Rosehill yesterday only ran second. Didn't improve much. What science? Nothing you write has any scientific evidence based research that conforms to scientific standards. Largely it is finger in the air BS.
  15. @Thomass if a Trainer said his/her horse suffers from "small man syndrome" would you be so quick to hit social media and protest?
  16. So you find this post acceptable commentary? It is clear that John Kellly has an axe to grind and also doesn't know what classifies a "fascist". The other question I asked the gentleman moaning in the local was - What action did Trump do during his last term that could be classified as fascist? Again....
  17. Yesterday at Addington a horse backed away just before the start, cannoned into another horse and locked wheels. The race started and both drivers had been knocked out of the carts. Fortunately they held their horses and weren't injured. A false had been declared so the horses lined up again. If a Jockey was left behind at the start would that constitute a false start?
  18. Ok. I don't know why they don't do that between races on raceday. Addington yesterday had three large tractors levelling the track after each race as well as a water truck going around.
  19. 125mm depth. What's a "harrow break"?
  20. It's like the other night at the local an elderly gentleman proclaimed that Trump was a terrible fascist. I asked what had he done that constituted fascism. Silence. I asked what was a fascist? Again silence.
  21. Yes but then we can't dictate which side they take. For example Israel vs Palestine. Of course what is socially or racially "just" can be open to a wide interpretation. For example one side sees merit in the Treaty Principles Bill while some see it as such a threat that they need to bring Cities to a standstill to protest something that isn't even law. I don't see anything socially just with that.
  22. @Thomass it is clear you only have 4 topics at most. Do you mind dropping a couple and imagining some new ones. No one likes a bore.
