  1. Nope because when you are oncourse you get a good ten minutes of watching the horses in the parade ring and galloping onto the track. You don't get that in "decent pub TAB".
  2. Looking OK for this weekend too.
  3. I thought it did. So essentially not enough R65 horses around but we will disadvantge the R60's and have less coming through.
  4. Moisture meter 39.4%. I have this uneasy feeling that the moisture has been let go too low. Noting though that there is a correlation between soil type and optimal moisture readings.
  5. Meeting News Programming Changes – Cambridge 18 September In order to maximise starter numbers both the R60 1300m and R60 2000m races will now be R65 races
  6. What was the track like?
  7. A G4 this morning after 5mm of irrigation.
  8. Yeah I didn't add all of it up. I'm not sure why they couldn't wait until Wednesday but a hot Nor West day tomorrow. Perhaps they should have taken another tracks recent approach lately and miscalibrated the .moisture meter.
  9. Earlier forecast on Metservice had 15mm falling. Metvuw still has a dump.
  10. The Grand Tour doesn't interfere much with anything else. It is a quite self contained bar - a bit like a mobile bar come TAB. Friends requented it during the Matamata Breeders Stakes Day at Trentham earlier in the year. The DJ's and music wasn't too bad. Surprised more didn't frequent the place - got a great leaner table and seat in front of some big TV screens. Food was good too and the bar prices not too bad. They could see the parade ring from where we were sitting.
  11. It was forecast to rain heavily on Wednesday.
  12. The question is will they be inclined to irrigate?
  13. Same point Chazza. Bit rich coming from you Chazza. Over 99% of dogs race without a major injury.
  14. 5/1000 or 99.5% of race starts have no major injury. Versus the KPI of 99.8% uninjured. The fact is that in no high performance event either human or involving dogs or horses is there a 0% injury rate. Go play tiddly winks Chazza with SUNT. Why don't you and SUNT direct your attentions to the 25% of pet dogs that have been made obese by bad owners?
  15. There is one at Manukau but you refuse to acknowledge it is there.
  16. Real time? You can't compare statistics like that. I keep telling you to normalise your data but you haven't a clue.
  17. It isn't an issue close to my heart. I just look after my own dog and detest hypocrites such as you and Chazza.
  18. So what are you doing SUNT to stop pet owners over feed their dogs?
  19. Ditto The topic is essentially about dog welfare. 6.3 Greyhounds in a 1000 get injured. Nearly all recover after dedicated care. More than 6.3 pet dogs in a thousand are over fed leading to chronic conditions often not treated. Do you protest against those owners? I bet your dog is fat and you think you are being kind.
  20. YOU can't. Would be interested to hear HOW YOU think you can SUNT. Question for you SUNT - will you ban every pet owner who over feeds their dog?
  21. Really or are you just shit stirring? The KPI is wrong in the first place. Why set a KPI that is half of other jurisdictions and which you largely have little control over. You see your metrics include injuries that GRNZ have no control over. For example you can't stop a dog colliding with another dog.
  22. Wow you are so fixated.
  23. Yes it was a Good 4 probably yesterday. But no excuses for any horses. The track seems to be playing fair except for the fact the rail is out 11m.
  24. Master Fay would be a classic case. If a horse has ability and it is out for 12 months it isn't because it has lost that ability but probably because it has an injury. If it is fit to race it still has that ability! Handicapping in my opinion isn't a subjective exercise. If you lean that way then it becomes open to rorting.
  25. Well Wiremu Pinn got it right in the 4th Race!
