  1. Assuming that it isn't a parallax error caused by where the pictured was taken from it would have no impact on a Jockey as they are supposed to ride through the line. The 20 centimetre (if it exists) is less than a 1/1000th of a second.
  2. Haven't you watched the Ruakaka races for nearly two years?
  3. Yep @Thomass has another special needs topic for the next decade.
  4. Don't know but looking at attendance purely from a betting perspective is flawed in my opinion. Attendance on raceday is more about access to the sport. So a $30 entry fee is prohibitive if you want to have a look and take the family to something a bit different than the zoo for a couple of hours.
  5. 35 degrees C?
  6. Somehow their marketing missed the mark. General Admission at $30 is a bit steep too if you want to take mum and the kids for a day out. Especially when the hotdogs are $8+ each!! When you have all that sunk cost in assets a General Admission fee of a gold coin donation per person would be better than no one attending.
  7. Geez Heveldt is calling the post race review an Aftermath now.
  8. Looked to me that Weatherley was already off the horse before the gates were released.
  9. Yet another sit sprint. Reflected in the times which aren't up to a G4 speed.
  10. Shame there aren't a few more Ozzie Jockeys at Ellerslie today. These sit and sprint race patterns are hopeless.
  11. Well according to @TAB For Ever there was 12,000 there on Boxing Day. I would have thought there would have been a similar amount today hence the comment. Nothing more to my comment than that
  12. Where exactly? Looks like there are more people at Riverton. Unless most of the people at Ellerslie are in the Kiddies Castle with @TAB For Ever !!
  13. @TAB For Ever did you scare them all away today?
  14. What the hell are you on about? I imagine it isn't any easier running a large racing stable with 200 horses and 130 staff than it is for someone who has 10 horses. Are you arguing we should have more Te Akau's? Anyway rather than give you more oxygen for your favourite knock the stable obsession let's get back to the topic Who would YOU have chosen to ride at 52.5 kg in The Railway? I don't expect an answer because you always shoot from the hip without any prior thought.
  15. As always you are blinded by your obsessions. One more time for your addled brain. The point I was making was: If the RIB take over raceday control at 7:30am in the morning of raceday then it is up to them to check: 1. That the track has been galloped on and is safe to race on; 2. That the declared track rating and measurements taken have been done, done accurately and truly reflect the actual track rating; 3. That the starting gates are on course, assembled and are safe to use; 4. That the race timing technology is in place and working correctly; 5. The photo finish cameras are functional and aligned correctly. Now all those things could be checked when No. 1 above was done. Not rocket science is it? Now you just continue rambling on with your boring witch hunt.
  16. So you can't name any? Typical. The facts are Captured By Love after her 1000 Guineas win had a brief spell to freshen up. Her late summer/early autumn programme (widely publicised) was to head straight to Melbourne to chase some Grp race black type. Kicking off with the Manfred Stakes at Caulfield the same day as The Railway/Karaka Millions night. Hence her not being in the early market for The Railway. Sure it is a late pivot to her programme but I'm sure Matk Walker who knows much more about training horses than you do has a reason. Regardless finding a top kiwi jockey that can ride 52.5 kg that didn't have prior commitments would be a hard ask. But I guess you are going to continue in 2025 going off half cocked on your anti crusade.
  17. Are you suggesting the RIB are biased? Where and when.
  18. Bollocks. Name those that can ride at 52.5 kg and who are available i.e. don't already have stable or specific horse commitments? As for not trusting a single kiwi jock Te Akau seem to have a bit of time for Wiremu Pinn who rides most of their horses. @Huey you really need to get those blinkers off.
  19. I learnt to fly and got my private pilots licence. Every time I went for a flight I had a check list. Why is it too hard for the Stipes to do the same? Afterall THEY are sending Jockeys out there to ride, THEY are are ensuring the INTEGRITY of a race and its outcomes. No one else is responsible.
  20. I haven't a clue about riding but wouldn't you have your toe firmly in the stirrups at the start? Move out and up after you have found a position.
  21. You need to take your bias glasses off. How many experienced NZ riders can ride 52.5kg? You know (I assume you do) that the Railway at Ellerslie over 1200m can be a full on affair. So as a Trainer what do you do?
