These types of articles are generally utter crap. I stop reading past the first mention of "an anonymous source said....." Some of the comments I've seen posted are purely speculative and salacious by people with envy and rampant imaginations. A bunch of young people decided to have a bit of a party and chill out from their full on physically and mentally demanding careers. Let's face it if you are a half decent jockey you must have nerves of steel and consider yourself invincible. All 4ft 11inches and 50kgs.

He's been banned from both of them. LOL one site was created because of himself! He hasn't been banned from here. -
How long will we remain in Level Four in New Zealand?

Ask the question why the Government hasn't done any comprehensive seroprevalence testing? -

Nup he is sulking and skulking because a few disagreed with some of his rants. -

How many of the under 40 have comorbidities? 60%+ of the Pasifika population are obese. Another issue is the "abundance of caution" approach. They will be measuring oxygen levels and assessing alongside comorbidities. -
Spare a "Be Kind" thought for our dear old @Thomass. Not only does he have to spend his days inflating and reinflating his worn out Princess but he doesn't have endless RIU reports to read through. Plus he has long since finished reviewing all the trials and race replays looking for 3yr olds that could wear blinkers after Christmas.

You're showing your age or lack thereof. But I don't think she has the same opinion of you as you do her!

No that wouldn't have sufficed as V'Landys and co have done backroom deals to keep racing going. That said 3 months is way over the top and as I posted above it defies logic when these Jockey's travel all round Melbourne further than 50km's regularly during the week. I guess the party wasn't sanctioned. But then rules are rules - I just have an issue with the 3 months.

Great stuff!

Sorry a "PR Decision" is presumably a marketing descison. A good marketing decision must met economic value criteria be it short or long in term. How is this decision going to add value? Particularly when it isn't the first time that the BGP and Luke Kerney have been favoured financially by a substantial amount. @the galah you seem to allow TAB NZ a free reign when managing what is effectively industry funding with the rationale "it is their business and they know what they are doing"! Their "long game" hasn't been all that successful to date and has been reliant on non-wagering revenue. As is the coming year. Wouldn't that indicate that they DON'T know how to play the "long game"?

A typo twice? But I guess the Top 3 explains both examples.

A couple of questions for the punting experts out there: Why would you take two bets at the same time for widely different amounts? How do you get widely different Fixed Odds Win prices when bets placed at the same time?

Lockdown delusion syndrome.

Thanks Karrots - I've always known this but it is great to hear it from my fans. Cheers. Damn you were writing about the commentator NOT Doug.
-
Maybe but why didn't they keep it local? Why travel to Mornington? That aside - aren't they all in the same bubble so why can't they "stay at home" together? Is a Jockey in Victoria confined to a particular track? For example Craig Williams and Brett Prebble rode at Pakenham on Friday and then rode at Caulfield on Saturday. Same distance from Caulfield to Mornington or Pakenham!! 55km!!! NSW is in a worse state than Victoria yet the Jockey's can travel 100km from Rosehill to Kembla Grange.
-
Well they are all probably going to get hammered again and have kissed any chance of an appeal away now that it is come out that they all forgot to mention the other two that were there. One unknown the other being Mark Zahra. One would have thought the older jocks would have known better.
-
I don't know about how history will look on them but as I've posted many many times I just don't like the way we put sports people on pedestals and double jeopardise them. That is they get punished by the Courts then the sports and racing administrations hammer them ten times more. In Kah's case she was fined $5,500 by the Police but essentially fined $40k in one day missing her rides yesterday. She earn't $16.7m in stakes last year so cleared $835k. Getting a 3 month holiday means a loss in income of a minimum of $200k. Doesn't seem like justice to me. Yes by all means stand them down but would 1 month have been enough instead of 3 months?

Apparently fairly early in the day they got behind the eight ball and started chasing things and in the end spraying it all round all the OZ meetings. Now I don't have all the information about how that Fixed Odds Quinella book was priced but was it conceivable that not only did the TAB top up the day's loss but that they also took a yield hit on that Fixed Odds Quinella? @Mardy?
