Ask your mate Comic Dog how its done. Admins have a function that allows them to Hide a post. I can Unhide Whiplash's rants if I wish.
-
I've just read all these posts and I think I know what set Whiplash off. Another poster quoted a quote in another post and doing that the system attributed the original quote to the posted who quoted it second. Many of you will have seen that happen before. So NO I didn't manipulate someone’s post. The rest of the garbage irrelevant to the Thread Topic I have hidden. As for the assertions made about my apparent compliance with Channel X management while involved with that site the claim is absolutely false. Those that know me well would attest that I dont cower to anyone. As for BOAY being "a cluster f#@k shitfest" - well I disagree it is only what posters make it and in that regard you all get a fairer cut of the whip than anywhere else.
-
I have absolutely no idea what you are on about.
-
Are you OK today? I assure you the Chief Stipe doesn't change people's posts. Doesn't even delete offensive one's just hides them.
-
NO not at all. I was just declaring my potential bias and the fact that I know he is an honest individual. I found the Stipes ruling to be out of proportion to the perceived crime. FFS a maiden trot race with 7 starters - five of which will be lucky to win a race in the next year! At the end of the day where you end up 20 seconds after the start is as much luck as talent. CJ's prime responsibility is to ensure his charge achieves the best final position that it can. In my opinion pulling back to 3 back on the rail didn't do that any harm. Apparently some punter wanted a cut throat head to head race for the lead.
-
Explain to us all how you interpret this rule? "Improper Driving".
-
It's like comparing the pre-school 20m sprint with a Senior 100m national final! The only difference is someone has put a bet on! So you backed another horse in the field to beat the first two because you had worked out that they would have cut each other's throat in front?
-
Depends on how big you want the course to be. Tighten the bends and keep the 1,200m straightish run and it would be less in my opinion. I think the course circumference is 2400m. Which is on the large side. Moonee Valley is 1800m and has 4 corners! What's more you would keep the racing close to those on course.

There's just no fucking vision. There's enough land at Riccarton to turn it into a great training centre with an all weather TURF track. As well you could sell up and relocate. Build a Pakenham type complex. Yeah na. We are going to import sand from OZ and spend $10m of tax payers money (plus another $6m from who knows where) on an AWT that punter's dont want to bet on.
-
2,500 races 2018-19. The AWT'S are forecast to have 1,000 of those going forward assuming no growth (which is a fair assumption). That's 40% of NZ's races on sand tracks that punters hate punting on! Just for a moment - imagine if the $16m (probably more than that) was assigned to building a Strathayr track at Riccarton?

Colin is a relative of mine via the clothesline and I would without hesitation say he is as honest as the day is long. To impugn his character with this silly charge is a sad reflection of where Harness racing has fallen to. Anyone with an ounce of understanding of harness racing would attest that CJ's actions didn't alter the outcome. Stipe decisions need perspective. FFS it was a maiden trot with a field of 7 runners. Five of whom wouldn't have got a start at headquarters if Harness Racing was where it should be. Which one of you "punters" felt you were disadvantaged by his actions?

I remember when my Dad had a horse in the Derby. Dunhill was his name. A very good horse that unfortunately never quite fulfilled his potential due to a knee problem. Ted Lowe said he was the fastest horse he'd driven on his track at Hinds. Timed him to run a furlong in 12 seconds. Ted trained the first horse to break 2 mins over a mile in NZ - Wag (I might be wrong on that). Anyway back to the Derby. Georgie Shand and Borana went to the front and we attacked him one out facing the breeze. We weren't particularly happy with the drive and we asked why did you keep attacking "He was supposed to hand up and he didn't. That's the rule." We pointed out that it was the NZ Derby not a maiden 3yr old trot! Mighty Me won the Derby and Borana went on later to win the NZ Cup at large odds.

Well 18 months isn't "anytime soon" is it? 1 February 2022 to be exact. Hardly putting your nuts on the line. Winnie will be gone before then. There'll be a change in Government in 6 weeks time either a redder one or blue. Neither of those party's support AWT's. Hell the public doesn't support $12m going to a Crystal growing Green School! I tell you what I'll put up a subscription to BOAY, a free BOAY private communication platform for two of your syndicates, free online advertising for any new syndicates and an integrated website for Pitman Racing Stables. That's a total value of over $5,000. That there won't be any races on an AWT before 1 August 2021. What are you putting up?
-
Well I'm not being badgered/bullied into betting on a project timeline when there are serious questions to be answered. Have you been getting lessons from shortstuff? Why is it so hard for you to answer the questions? You are a businessman - how is this new AWT sustainable unless the diminishing pool of owners pitch up more money to cover track fees? The revenue from racing unless you centralise the whole of South Island racing to Riccarton WON'T cover costs! Some perfectly good and profitable race clubs are going to be forced to close to support something that has a very flawed business case in my opinion. Come on Tim Mills and Bernard Saundry - post the business case here now!
-
I take it Pitty you will be having no holiday? 35 race days at Riccarton (I've heard 40) - if it's the latter then that leaves 12 weeks (12 racedays) for the rest of South Island. As you said "no travel bring it on!" What options did the Westland Racing Club have? NO dates so no races. They decided to hand their assets back to the community which built them in the first place! Rather than them being taken over to help fund the AWT folly at Riccarton! Don't tell me you don't know the answers to my questions or have you and Tim fallen out?
-
They are not "Smoke Screen" questions Pitty. They are important questions that need to be answered. Transparency is needed. So I gather you either don't know where the extra $6m is coming from or you won't tell us? So Pitty your support is all about self-interest - stuff the rest of the South Island! "I won't have to travel again"..... The numbers don't add up Pitty.
-
"It makes no difference where the money comes from" - quote Michael Pitman. Well I think the rest of the South Island is wondering as are many elsewhere in the country. As for putting my money where my mouth is Pitty - is the Canterbury Jockey Club putting up any of the extra $6m? Will you be willing to "put your money where your mouth is" in terms of increased track charges? Those are just two of the important questions that need to be asked. Another one for you Pitty - what will be the effect on South Island racing?

I am pleased to advise there has been much progress in regards the design and associated matters in respect of the proposed Synthetic Track at Riccarton Park. A working group involving a cross section of stakeholders has been involved to date and it is now timely to have a more open forum involving a wider range of interested parties. You are invited to attend this. The presentation will be hosted by the engineers Cogswell Survey who are also involved with the Cambridge and Awapuni projects and there will be representatives from NZTR. DATE: Wednesday 16 September 2020. TIME: 1pm. VENUE: The Show Gate, Riccarton Park. A complicating factor will be if Christchurch is still in COVID-19 Alert Level2 which would necessitate the presentation being limited to 100 people. Hopefully this is not the case but to be prepared and plan for that case please respond to register that you wish to attend. PLEASE RSVP by return email by noon on Friday 11 September. Kind regards
