    Then why not close all tracks that have had a reduction in on-course turnover? Why are they building 3 synthetic tracks at a cost of $30m that will not enhance the on-course race viewing?

    Net surplus for Sales 2019 is stated as $31,104. They are still carrying livestock with a book value of $51k. Cash on hand in bank was $132,000.

    Why close clubs that are not costing the industry anything? That's what's happening. So the central administrators are ripping the heart out of the industry to try and make the central tracks profitable. Good luck with that.

    Seems the three codes in Dunedin/Otago have been universally shafted. Doesn't make sense. 2018 the Dogs had $500k in the bank!

    They had a loss in 2018 of $250k. But that could be attributed to the switch to Bulk Funding and increase in costs to hold their race meetings. Both these factors are controlled by HRNZ. They still had money in the back $500k and $2.1m in assets at the end of 2018 season.

    I've always wondered what's to stop them from racing at their own venues? I.e. they have their own race meetings without RITA/NZTR finance?

    The point is they still go there! Don't underestimate the number of Harness owners that live in the Central Districts. Maybe HRNZ should have looked at that data.
