  1. Loyalty to whom and what Kakama? If I recall correctly you got the flick at both RC' s.
  2. I don't have time to read every single post and moderate them. I'm relying on the community to regulate itself. I will read all content reports to the moderator. However I do not spend 24/7 on BOAY. Particularly this past two weeks when I have had my young daughter staying with me. I will intervene if I determine that a post oversteps the mark. Today one did. I may have erred in editing the offensive comment from the original post and subsequent quotes. However I took the approach I did because the comment crossed the line and person it was about is not here to defend themselves. Secondly I left the rest because in my opinion it was valid opinion. I'm now being told I should have left it up so people can file defamation proceedings. You'd be surprised how many "expert" legal practioners are on this site! If Mardigras, Curious, Thomass and Reefton want to call each other idiots then go for it. I'm not defending Thomaas but did anyone notice that he was right and Reefton was wrong when it came to the actual barrier positions at Hokitika? Thomaas has been posting on the site since it started and it seems it is now a BIG issue. Aside from the fact that he is probably enjoying the oxygen and limelight that you are giving him! Ignore those you don't like. I'll will reply to whoever I feel I want to. I was certainly interested in the protest that was organised for Trentham. If it hadn't been for the Tank how may of us would have known about it?
  3. Do what "decisively"?
  4. On what grounds Hesi?
  5. Act "decisively" and do what?
  6. He is not in line to be banned as I do not believe he has crossed the line. Although he can be a right pain in the arse if you sort through the chaff he does raise some good points. He also has been the protagonist in a very interesting debate on punting. I used to take note of when blinkers were tried for the first time but as Curious and Mardigras have pointed out that is shear folly! I also agree that if he has crossed the line then I'd be banning at least 6.
  7. That's fine but I do see a difference between mob rule, democracy and principled free speech. I'm not sure what everyone has been drinking lately but this all started because a select few disagree with one poster being allowed to continue posting.
  8. You wanted the comment removed so I did. Do you want me to remove your post as well?
  9. At least I'd be able to respond to their lies. As it stands they are welcome to front up and post here. Remember Hesi you are a "lap dog" according to the Comic Dog. Freedom of speech comes at a price as do adhering to principles. Ask Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen which they would choose now - principles or loyalty? I'm going to respond to this thread in the fullness of time. In the meantime feel free to vent without being banned or heavily moderated for the only reason that you criticise the management of this website. Meanwhile Rome (the NZ Racing Industry) burns down around us.
  10. Does anyone know if this happened?
  11. Thomaas is correct. I just reviewed the video on the NZRacing website.
  12. Lucky for Flash - I understand he has a month's holiday which coincides with the sales at Karaka!
  13. What I can't find is my password reset email! I've had the green tick THREE times now and still haven't received the email! But can someone please tell me how this works - Why am I still getting the TAB promotional emails at the email address I'm trying to get my password reset email sent to? Got me buggered!
  14. Your first point - I can only speak from experience when involved more closely with the harness industry and particularly when I did my amateur drivers license course. Second point - I don't understand it. Please can you elaborate. Third point - I assure you as this incident happened when I was on deck at the other channel it did get a lot of posts. Especially when the retired "champion" jockeys got going.
  15. As I said in an earlier post the same hierarchical management scenario has been a factor in numerous plane crashes. Apprentices are trained to call the starter and stipe Sir and Mr and not to challenge. In the Hokitika scenario the jockey's were largely inexperienced and can be excused for not speaking out however they had probably got used to just sitting on the horse, not remembering their gate number and while focussed on staying balanced on the horse were happily led in by the attendants. Although I'm sure those that had drawn the outside to suddenly find themselves on the inside at Hokitika were probably inclined to think "yahoo bonus" - although they were probably left in two minds when it came to the first corner - "do I turn left or right?" In my opinion the buck stops with the Starter, his assistant and the Stipe.
  16. Only if you are on-course! Interesting though that you are now talking about individual characteristics for each horse vs general population. I'd suggest that the "Horse Psychology" option is extremely variable.
  17. Betting on 2yr old races is a bit of a lottery in my opinion especially in New Zealand with very little disclosed trial form. Jayne's tips are fine if you are on-course.
  18. Pass. Where did you get the turnover figures from?

  22. Where from NZRB? Did you ask for them specifically or are they published somewhere so we can all see? Reefton was pointing out that if on-course attendance and turnover was a metric for keeping a racecourse open then Reefton trumped Matamata on that day. In my opinion the longevity of racing as a sport AND a medium to bet on is inherently linked to the exposure it gets on the ground. I imagine that amongst the many children running around at Reefton on their raceday there are potentially future stakeholders in the game. Disenfranchise them at your peril. They won't be Matamata "Fashion in the Field" types either.
  23. Where did you find those figures? Many of us have been looking for turnover figures for quite sometime. They don't seem to be published anymore.
