TAB Problems - ENTAIN's solution - bring it inhouse!
Tiger Tiger replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
NZTR didn't outsource the wagering, the TAB did. Different entities, different CEOs, different remits. Do you blame the TAB if there is an issue with a track, or an licensed trainer or jockey - NO because that NZTRs remit, like Wagering and its platforms for wagering is the TAB's -
TAB Problems - ENTAIN's solution - bring it inhouse!
Tiger Tiger replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
He is CEO of NZTR - thats NZ thoroughbred racing, not wagering, not TAB, but racing. very petty to knock a man because he was open about his shortcomings (as they relate to another company). As he said at the roadshows, NZTR are part of the team with owners, trainers, jockeys, clubs of NZTR, the more we knock each other down then the worst it is - start smiling and be thankful for the entain money -
NZ Derby 2022 - La Crique drawn 1 - Final Field.
Tiger Tiger replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
its not really a mad dash to the first bend in the Derby CS, they have the length of the straight plus the chute before hitting the first bend -
Its fine that the Clubs / Tote consortiums applied for the wage subsidy, their staff lost jobs or days work over the period the subsidy applies too and its great that a Club can make a claim and continue to pay tote operators for the days that they would of worked. That is exactly what the scheme is for. except for two or three clubs, i would suspect that the raceday income is the majority of the income for Clubs, whether that is hospitality packages, race day payments, tote turnover payments, compliance payments etc - the criteria from the Govt was a reduction of 30% of your income, so not having racedays would have impacted those clubs who scheduled to run meeting(s) over the period. they still have to pay track staff, maintenance, admin, management etc as well rates, insurance etc also not quite right about clubs not paying tax, they pay GST and PAYE, but not income tax

the point is to support the industry and its local connections, you should try it chief - andrew castles left HBRC in March, PBTC were advised of the racedates (or lack of) in May - so what dots are we joining and what do they show ?

Clarkie - Did he catch you doing something to a greyhound that you shouldn't of being doing ? At least these guys contribute to the industry, rather than sit behind an alias firing out abuse. Its same old, same old because they are only people that put their hands up and do something about it

I don't think having experience with horses and ability makes you immune from the virus. Its a safety measure and in the best interests of public health to have the least amount of people as possible.

Laurie How did you work out what each club receives from NZTR ? Just an FYI Clubs don't receive any money from the NZRB

Closing provincial tracks will ruin New Zealand racing
Tiger Tiger replied to Delta Bro's topic in Galloping Chat
I think you will find that is an agreement between and NZTR and NZB regarding funding. Would be a similar situation if it was run at Te Rapa, Counties or Avondale. Also it is called the Karaka Millions, but since you mention Magic Millions the NZTR/NZB relationship would be similar to the Racing Queensland/Magic Millions Sales Company relationship with the meeting held at Gold Coast Turf Club -
Closing provincial tracks will ruin New Zealand racing

Reeftons turnover was $542k Ellerslies was a touch over $4m From the ARC annual report for last season ... The Club itself contributed in excess of $1,000,000 of additional stakes for races run at Ellerslie, over and above that which is provided by the national stakes funding policy. -
Reefton, it might be wise (if you have the time) to enlighten some on here about how the Club funding works for Reefton etc - I think it will help some people understand the financial contribution (outside of stake funding) that NZTR make and what it helps support on a raceday CS - I know from your posts you have a deep dislike for Ellerslie, but I am curious to understand the " massive costly cock up" that Ellerslie did with their track. From all reports that i had read / heard (i.e NZ Top Trainers, Jockeys etc) they are unanimous in their praise for the drainage upgrade that the Club did (and paid for themselves)
