  1. Sure have. The average couch or pub punter would shy after being bitten twice though I believe. Did they talk it up before the race or did they let it go too. if Joe Punter is steered away from it then $11 is no surprise.
  2. Just cos you bet on anything 24/7 Globe ?
  3. TAB don't always get that the viewing experience is meant to enjoyable and enticing through the sharing of information which will lead to betting. Who wants to listen to a whiny American commentator go on? Steve Davis must be feeling sick to his stomach having to talk about this crap.
  4. Punters were tired of losing money after 2 duck eggs full of breaks.
  5. The pool for Race 2...maybe it does promote responsible gambling by putting people off lol
  6. Frikking joke. I just made mention of this type of crap that the TAB deals out to the public in my 2018 review. Does it encourage responsible gambling?
  7. Flying Home: Commentators: Still think we are blessed with commentators. Young Trainers: Quite a few have really come on in recent times, no more than Mitchell Kerr but there are a few who are generating interest which is great for the game. Female Influence: Great to see the rise of females in the junior ranks and the odd one popping up in the training ranks. Animal Welfare: Ballsy to put up here but the game has been pretty well behaved this year. The 10 whip rule is frustrating but it has a moral purpose so I can live with it. Just hope SAFE can too. Stuck on the Rails: The Messara Report: Doubt it will see daylight soon. The swiftness of its birth will be nothing like its growing pains which could be bloody slow and weighty on the industry. Purdon Dominance: Not a fan, but still great that they set the standard and they do have some mighty horses which the industry needs but still not sure of the long term effects. They should go to North America next...come on..have a go. TAB Betting Restrictions: 6 back on the rails and not going to see daylight anytime soon. It is what it is. Standing Starts: Someone in power needs to sort this out once and for all. What is philosophy? Walking up or Standing? Drifting at the 400m mark The Box Seat: A 2 man show is just not worth the effort. The love-in doesn't work and it doesn't even get into the nitty gritty. Flicked through it a week or two ago to see if they would bring up the stipes performance over Mr Yips. Nothing. If you aren't going to be controversial or investigative then don't bother wasting money on the show. Bring in Garrick Knight, Matt Markham and the Whale and let the sparks fly with Guerin ? The NZ Cup: Could sink into oblivion as a race the way things are going. There are going to be years when the field is not going to full or just full of All Stars and no one else and it will be a blight on Cup Week. TAB Int'l Live: Get rid of this rubbish from our screens. No one should be enticed to bet on Santa Nita or wherever galloping rubbish in the mornings. Focus on your local market. At the Nominations Stage Race Fixing Inquiry: The category from hell for the harness game. Everybody seems to have an opinion, most seem pulled from thin air or said in hope Seems like it has only just started too. Some nominated may not make the start line for this potentially brutal 2 mile race on a wet grass track but quite a few may have no hope of winning the race and some may never race again. Who knows, but 2019 will not be a quiet year in harness racing. Hope it somehow benefits the industry in the long term.
  8. Yes, but I feel like I am only up to Dunkirk.
  9. After the first run at Westport I asked the question if the horse was right. Clearly isn't. Second day run it is gone on final bend. Backing it tomorrow would be silly in my opinion. You are saving money rather than losing it.
  10. I'm exhausted and I am meant to be on holiday Reefton tomorrow...oh dear lord.
  11. The Beragio scale allows for 8.
  12. Big thumbs up there Dougie. Place odds large!
  13. So more a positive move? When you don't have the horse numbers it is hard to do much I imagine.
  14. Patience. TAB are adopting the recommendations of 'Brodie Report' come January 1st.
  15. Restricted programmes are not that unusual I believe. Someone will know more than me about it. Interesting they are looking to push horses to Waikato. I am not sure if it is a positive move or a desperate one. Haven't followed the trots up that way for ages. What is your take on it Taku?
  16. Its the TAB, what else would one expect? They are hardly renowned for thinking.
  17. Race 1 today. Why wouldn't he push for the lead early on and then take the trail behind Zeddie Marit? Content to sit park the whole way and end up third. Another good weekly cheque.....won't be backing it to win again.
  18. and you are going to bet at Motukarara! Would you like a Medal of Honor or Victoria Cross? Maybe both. ?
  19. '...I get knocked down but I get up again....' is stuck in my head. Still like Foreigner in race 1. Some Time in race 3. And what I consider one of the more unfashionable horses for punters out there. Bobby T! I put Bobby T in with Flamboyant, Midfrew Tarpediem, to name a couple of those horses, who don't just don't seem to curry favour with punters but produce more often than they are credited for.
  20. Wasn't interested on the first day was he. Not at all. I suppose it was its first start. Nice warm up for the second day. Big effort for a maiden having its second start against seasoned horses and win. Good spotting.
  21. confident from the get go.....? Newmarket won't be sleeping tonight either lol
  22. Is that the name of a computer company? ?
  23. Odds not up yet, they have Cambridge harness up and gallops from all over the place. I suppose they will come up after the odds for the camel racing at the Ulaanbaatar and Abu Dhabi meets get posted.
  24. and boobybec goes BOOM! Love the confidence. ?
  25. Anybody brave enough to go again? Roman? HTP? Shad? Of those mentioned the first day. I thought Nurburgring got stuffed on the home turn when looking good and Newmarket's tip of Apocalypse was held up at the wrong time but ran home strong. I might have a quiet day and multi those in place and win bets. Both should be at handy odds when they come on a minute.
